Informative and fun
I bought for this for my preschool class, it kept them engaged and interested and allowed for great questions and discussions on fair trade.

Great book shame about the errors in text formatting in the Kindle version!
This story was brilliant - a mix between story with relevant information text that my reception class loved! It’s a shame that the text on the Kindle version is not formatted correctly and on many of the pages is unreadable due to the title box covering it. This really needs correcting. Would have been a five star otherwise.

This is a GREAT book to introduce the concept of Fairtrade (Fair Trade) to children (or adults!)!
This is the best book for children about Fair Trade (Fairtrade) that I can find, and I've read several. I'm hoping to buy at least one more copy, when it becomes available again. There's a great story here, about Juliana, her children Bertha and Billy, and the bananas growing in their garden for export from the Windward Islands (Dominica, Martinique, Saint Lucia, Grenada, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines). Throughout the story, the reader learns a lot about bananas: The small banana plant is called a sucker. The banana plant is not a tree, it's actually the world's largest herb. We learn about how bananas are ripened, and there are great banana recipes. We learn about the great difference that Fairtrade makes by providing the Fairtrade Premium. The people there have chosen to use the Fairtrade Premium to pay for computers, science equipment, and a lawn mower for the soccer field for the children's school. The helping effects on worker safety are shown. We even get to meet some real life banana workers. Rather than just tell, this book shows the reader why Fairtrade is great, and what it accomplishes.
