Works great for only about $20 more than the plastic options. We live in AZ with harsh sun and weather, so plastic isn’t a durable option. It’s big enough to fit small packages no problem. The flat sides made it easy to stick on large reflective address numbers which haven’t come loose at all. Nice and clean look altogether. Had to drill new holes in the bottom to install it onto our PO box pole, but that’s probably because the pole is old enough that I think it predates the modern standardized screw mount patterns. The handle is big and easy to grab. The door opens all the way and hangs straight down out of the way, but I’m sure if it was really yanked open it could fly back and hit something within range because there’s nothing stopping it. There’s no lock on it, but we don’t need that. The magnet for the door is strong and sturdy. If another neighbor accidentally backs up into this one too and we needed to replace it again, I’d get this one again, but I also think this one is sturdy enough to survive the hit better.

This mailbox is huge! I wasn't expecting it to be as big and roomy, but I love it. The door closes tightly and it's made very durable. Installation was quick and easy. I love that I can have medium size boxes fit into it without squashing the box. You can't beat the price for this mailbox. I definitely recommend!

We have people driving by hitting mailboxes with baseball bats or something similar. Destroyed our last mailbox. Can't fix that problem but this mailbox appears to prevent destruction due to being much sturdier than the usual mailbox. Also the magnetic closure is much easier for the mail delivery person as well as ourselves. Good quality, too. Highly recommend!

Good thick steel very pleased with this we live in the country and we have a driver that doesn’t treat our box well so if he doesn’t shut the lid rain can’t get to it I would definitely purchase again

This is a very heavy and robustly made mailbox. The finish seems to be applied really well and is a fairly heavy coat all the way around. It is big enough for small boxes and all the mail you want. It comes with mounting hardware, but I used my own because of the way I wanted it to sit on a custom post. My only complaint and for me is important, is that the magnet used to keep the door closed is weak. I would say, very weak, but still works - barely. I hope the black color does not fade. Overall, a good box and mostly recommended.

Extremely heavily constructed. Door is inset into the box rather than closing outside of the box and the flag is very heavily constructed and attached to the bix with a beefy bolt bith key features for me. We live on a state road in the Northeast. The snow plows throw heavy walls of snow at our box every winter. My first standard box was crushed by the snow in the first storm. The next heavy duty plastic box exploded like a grenade in the next storm. My lasy heavy duty box lasted 7 years but it had a design flaw in which the door closed to the outside of the box and recently the snow caught the door and ripped it from its hinges while also obliterating a not so heavily constructed and mounted flag. This box is perfectly designed to withstand a winter onslaught of snowplows and make it to spring unscathed. They over deliver on the thickness of the metal of every component of this box. This is your huckelberry if you live on a state road. Large enough to hold a week or two of mail if on vacation or large packages.

Big and heavy, this mailbox makes a statement. Bright red flag and beautiful shiny black finish. A classy and classic mailbox.
