It seems silly that this mattress has low reviews for being firm. The description of it is very firm, and that it is. I purchased the 5 inch thickness so there is not a lot of space for 'give'. The quality of the material feels very good. I felt great waking up from a nights rest; where with the traditional spring mattress I would usually feel sore. As it's very firm, the support doesn't allow for the body to sink and my body felt balanced and weight distributed comfortably. If you're someone more comfortable in a soft, sinking, cloud-like bed, this is the antithesis of that. It felt like a comfortably warm, grounding sleep. I'm grateful I ignored the low reviews, as they have nothing to do with its quality but representing personal preferences (just like mine here :) ).

First it is very well made but too firm for me. I feel like I'm sleeping on a rock. This may be fine for some people but not what I wanted.

This is a shame. Why would they go to all the trouble of creating the ultimate comfortable mattress and sabotageit by using chemically laden materials????? I was awakened after 4 hours of sleep by a strong chemical odor. I was nauseated and my heart was racing. I could not believe it was coming from this mattress, but it was.

Not as firm or hard as advertised but very lumpy, very thick and cannot roll it or move it easily! Also .. I'm having an odd type of lower back pain after sleeping on it for a while now. I wanted to return the product but Amazon said I crossed the 30 day return period ! I don't recommend this to anyone who is looking for a firm futon! Too expensive and the packaging it came in looked like someone had already used it and it was repackaged and sent to me! This product cost me a lot of money. I'm a frequent Amazon customer but I am not sure if I will be using Amazon much if this type of product is sold, specially for something with this price tag ! Not happy about this product at all !!

I used to get really bad back pain with our conventional spring mattress. After doing a lot of research we purchased White Lotus mattress. It took us some time to get used to the firmness but we love it now, and my back pain is gone. This is a quality handmade product without chemicals.

I have searched and searched for a futon that is not full of chemicals. This futon is worth it's weight in gold! It smells fresh, it is nice and firm and so well-made! It is The best futon I have ever had! You know the old saying, you get what you pay for. If you're looking for a new futon this is a worthwhile investment.

This is like sleeping on a rock floor it’s so stiff. I thought it would loser up and get softer but it has not. If you like sleeping on the floor this is the mattress for you. It’s well made and very sturdy.

why does it list flame retardant in the fibers description ?i thought it was chemical free ?
