Kingfisher RL5 Standing Reindeer Animated Rope Light, Transparent

The reindeer body comes fully assembled and the head and neck are attached to the cabling but have to be connected to the body. This is not that easy without any instructions but basically, you just put the little end 'sticks' through nuts which have been welded on to strategic parts of the body for the purpose. There is no way to secure these on, unless you bend the 'sticks' over a bit with a pair of pliers. I haven't done so yet but thought I'd wait and see if the weight of the head and neck prevents them from coming back out of the nuts. But it does look very nice once it's assembled and you plug it in and the head starts to move slowly from side to side :-) And because it's a rope light, it doesn't look too bad with the lights off either :-)The only really bad thing about it is that the lead is only 1.5 metres long!!!! I have noticed that a 1.5 metre lead seems quite common on Christmas lights but it really isn't long enough for a free-standing outdoor sculpture that you have to plug in indoors or into a proper IP rated outside socket! But I'd seen an identical looking reindeer with the same dimensions on eBay, which had a 10 metre cable, so I expected this to have a 10 metre cable too. I was very disappointed when I found it only had a 1.5 metre one and had to go out and spend another ten pounds on an outdoor weatherproof extension box. Next year I will get an electrician to fit a 5 or 6 metre cable on it so I can plug it straight into my outside socket. But this year, I will just have to use the dry-box.....Ho! Ho! Ho!

after having 2 years as of December 2015 thought i would review this, 2 years sounds long but that is 1 1/2 months of actual use and powered on for about 6hrs a day.1) rusted, hasnt lasted well and pretty rusty in patches so up close not to pretty any more2) half of the LED's in the head have failed, this hppened in the past 2 daysgets 3 stars as still works and moves and looks good when dark

Bought this reindeer in the sales in January 2015, having checked it all worked properly. Took out of box for this Christmas and after 15 minutes half of the head and antler lights had stopped working. Not long after the other half also failed. The company have so far refused to do anything about it as it was bought too long ago, despite it only being used for the first time last week. I am still awaiting a second response to my emails. Not in time for Christmas. Very disappointed. Definately wouldn't recommend this.

Worked for most of last Christmas, was really pleased then stopped sadly but, matches another such I bought locally. Tried to contact for help no joy, asked for another motor, no joy.

Bought two in 2014 for outside Christmas display, head and antlers failed on one almost immediately - refunded. Bought another in 2015. Put both out in December 2015, the old one failed within minutes. So of three obtained, two failed miserable. BUT... one is still working; but no confidence in it lasting. Also ODD that price keeps changing. Don't expect these to last for more than a couple of weeks outside.

I ordered it to replace the one we had which no longer worked. The replacement is of poor quality and three of the bulbs failed in the first five minutes of test, it is very flimsy too. I would not recommend the product to anyone.

This item worked fine for a few days outside but the animation then failed.This was due to water ingress in the "weatherproof" animation motor.Animation has completely failed.Very poor response from seller.

I love xmas and this was the cherry on the top,.really good value for the money,would reccomend it to friends.
