No, it didn't really work for me working in hight heat, ice pack fall out if you bend down and you can't get them to stay completely in a flat shape when freezing

So fresh. So cold. I have a job where I have to work outside in a parking lot type area in the summer. It's a beast. Being able to throw on this chilled vest is great. It's almost a little too great in that. If you're not careful, ice packets go from feeling like they're cool to feeling like they're burning you if you leave them pressed against an area without much layers. I do find after about 30 minutes. I have to rotate it ever so slightly to cool other areas and that tends to avoid that cold numb feeling where it almost becomes hot. Yes it comes without gel. It's powder but they give you a little funnel thing to fill them up and it actually seals and works really well. I have found some other gel packs that I got from some medicine deliveries that are the appropriate size to fit in here. So I actually have like three sets of gel packs and I can rotate through them pretty easily when I'm out and about. I just keep the gel packs in my cooler and as an added benefit they keep whatever I got in my cooler. Cool so it works out and I have my hi-vis vest to be safe out there.

It's a nice vest, there was several things about the vest that I did not care for, with the first being read the reviews despite them all saying that the packets leak which they do and it was awful being at work and they had melted so everything I bent over they would leak water all over my shirt pants ect. My recommendation would be to get some ice packs that are reusable that you stick in the freezer then there would be no leaks! The second thing I would recommend to the manufacturer is to make it mesh instead of cloth.other than those items I mention it does its job. I use the ice packs that did not come with it and the vest does keep me cool I just switch them out at lunch.
