A Gruesome, Bloody & Violent CGI Zombie Movie!
A “Shout-out” and “Thank you” to Director Takanori Tsujimoto, Stage G films, Kadokawa films and Marza Animation Planet Productions for an excellent CGI Movie that demonstrates cutting edge detail of CGI display of human skin textures, eye moisture, veins beneath the skin, hair, sweat, city roads textures, buildings, walls, windows, the smallest detail of rust on a spoon or fork, the way clothing behaves on the human body and various clothing textures, including all other environmental textures has such realistic impact on you, the you utterly forget that you are watching a CGI Movie! The Premise: A small trio of highly skilled individuals work together to defeat an intentional outbreak of the virus that turns people into zombies.*This movie is left open for yet another sequel. My Thoughts: CGI Movies are great for Sci-fi movies like Starship Troopers, and “HALO,” along with the Resident Evil series. More of these types of Sci-Fi CGI Movies are to follow from other franchises. These are (triple-AAA) productions, with amazing realistic detail and absolutely great storylines. This movie is very good, with all its zombie gore, action, character development, and massive carnage and blood. The para-military/special forces factor, including hardcore fighting sequences and gun battles really elevates this movie to a level of total splendor. I thought it very odd and funny that “pretty-boy” Agent Kennedy could fight all these bloody battles with zombies and ride that motorcycle all over the place…and yet his hair is NEVER out of place…really???The Facts:1. Running Time: 1hr. 37 min.2. Widescreen HD3. Sound 5.1 DTS-HD4. Beautiful and Realistic CGI Effects.5. No dry or boring areas this movie has a lot of action.6. Excellent Story with a climatic ending, left open for a possible sequel.7. Excellent Character Development.8. The Movie is Gruesome, Shocking, Bloody, Gory with lots of Carnage.Thank you!

Goofy as heck, ridiculous fun with some heart
Now you'd think that just because they're fighting a giant on top of a skyscraper, a motorcycle wouldn't be factoring in as a decisive weapon. And that's where you'd be wrong. Because this is an absolutely bonkers, over-the-top banger of a goofy video game movie that had me yelling "What?!" at a few occasions. I had a great time. Don't expect Citizen Kane (which I haven't seen admittedly but heard it was kind of the bar for good movies) or anything that remotely plays by the rules of the real world, and you'll be set. Like 11 spec ops guys will get downed by one (1) zombie child, while meanwhile in an earlier installment of the same franchise a certain rookie cop managed to survive an entire zombified city, so don't take that part too seriously. Once that first 'spooky' part of the movie is finished (which really fell flat for me because I expect more from spec ops) and we move into where the heart of it really is--ridiculous bombastic flashy guns-blazing zombie battles--and it hits it stride to become a fun time. Some of it gets so ridiculous that you just have to laugh and vibe along. Its choreography had me hollering at one particular point (you'll know it when you see it, it somewhat resembles lethal duck-duck-goose with tumbling and machine guns) but is also insanely tight and creative, which made for a great fun movie night--and that's from someone who finds action sequences pretty stale sometimes! One thing I did think was interesting on a deeper level and that I hope gets expanded on is Leon's struggle with disillusionment and depression, which was briefly touched on. Although he pulls out of it to do his job, the movie ends by acknowledging that it's just put a band-aid on a much bigger problem. Leon asks twice, once before and once after the fighting, how long they can continue like this, and whether his life is just supposed to be devoted to fighting zombies. The first time he gets pressured to just suck it up and re-join the mission, which he does. The second time he brings it up, the fighting is done. Chris cracks a joke--but Leon's still thinking, still pondering, and I'm glad they didn't gloss through and force him to a resolution when there really wasn't one yet. I'm interested to see that quieter and more mature side of him come to light and I hope they give it the weight it deserves...I hope he does find that resolution, too. I'm interested to see if it comes up again in future movies.Overall, I had a blast with this movie. The animation was such good fun (in my opinion) that it was easy to just get swept up in the fun and forget that our 'actors' were pixels. It is, again, goofy as heck, but if you just remember that the 'rule of cool' supersedes all else, it's a good time. My inner 13-year-old was going absolutely feral! W movie, in my opinion.

Great for RE fans of the game.
You know it was a Resident Evil CGI film that got me into Resident Evil and ever since I saw it I thought of how cool the franchise was and when I got my first Wii, I got the Umbrella Chronicles and that was my first Resident Evil game I ever played. I like the idea of the CGI films and I really liked the Netflix CGI Resident Evil series Infinite Darkness. I wish they'd make more CGI films than the live action attempts because there's always something they don't do wrong or something missing that just the games can always give us and I think more CGI films can do the same too. I liked Vendetta a lot - sometimes I'd pause the movie just to think of the timeline and if it's before RES6 which it is and all I could think about "I wish Piers was in here lol." It was nice seeing Rebecca Chambers in here too - I love Chris and Leon, but it is nice seeing other original characters too. Also, Glenn Arias was a pretty good villain - would be neat to see him in the games. Definitely reccomend this ❤
