This is a "Apple iBeacon" - and states so on the packaging itself, but not in the Amazon description. It is definitely not a motion detector, nor a motion sensor. All sensing happens on your mobile phone, which senses the bluetooth signal from the "Room Locator". IMHO very misleading. So your phone runs IFTTT and can trigger actions when it starts detecting the iBeacon, or looses contact with it. The delay in action seen by other reviewers is mostly in the way IFTTT works, and not necessarily in the iBeacon itself.

Flickering Lights
I bought this item expecting to be able to use it in my bedroom so my lights turned on as soon as I entered. What actually happens is they turn on about 20 seconds after I enter the room and then while I stay in the room they flicker on and off as the LinkDesk keeps thinking I leave and enter the room repeately. The product hasn't worked out how to be used yet and I would recommend you go with a traditional motion detector rather than this.

Apparently made for those who live alone. A pretty dumb idea.
I would suggest zero stars if it were possible. This is the type of dumb product that brings real attempts at home automation into disrepute. One in every room at £25 a pop. You must be kidding! What happens if you have more than one person in a room or guests visiting? Duh! Do they sit in the dark after you walk out of the room to fetch the wine?Very poorly, expensive and badly thought out idea. There are plenty of far simpler and cheaper ways of doing this although non that I am aware of that solve the multiple occupancy problem.
