I can buy 3 bottles of 5% minoxidil from various providers for the price of this product. However, they all come with an eye dropper, which I’ve never used. When minoxidil first became available, the bottles came with an extended nozzle sprayer like this one which can be easily threaded through my hair so the solution reaches my scalp and doesn’t end up on my hair like the foam does. I bought this product because I wanted a backup extended spray nozzle. It was the cheapest product listed with this applicator, one that I can reuse for many years.

This review is for “Thick Head Minoxidil Topical Solution Extra Strength”. Minoxidil takes 3 to 6 months to show results, and this is a 30-day supply so I couldn’t say if it works or not. I can say that it doesn’t have an odor and is easy to apply.Minoxidil is complicated. There’s a list of warnings in fine print including that this product should not be used by women. This is confusing because Minoxidil has been approved by the FDA for women and there are plenty of 5% products available for women. Minoxidil is only effective for certain patterns of hair loss. It needs to be applied twice daily to dry hair before any styling products are used and it needs to be dry before going to bed. There are possible side effects. It’s more effective for people under the age of 40 and shouldn’t be used by people over 65. If Minoxidil does work, it needs to be used indefinitely to maintain any hair gain. This could get expensive. Given all this, I decided it’s not worth the trouble.

Apparently this product is made for the crown and not the top to front of your hair. It says results will be minimal for anything other than the crown.Additionally, IF...IF it does work you have to use it daily until you no longer want to save your hair or else you'll lose all your results.Another thing is when when you apply it, it runs everywhere so you've got to be quick.This stuff may work for some, but def not for me.

The optimal minoxidil dose is 2-5% (5% is likely more effective), applied 1-2 times per day.The spray applicator makes it easier for covering your scalp quickly. It doesn't drip or run, but the disadvantage is that you can't really target your scalp beneath your hair as effectively as liquid or foam.I also prefer foam for targeting your hairline. Spray makes it difficult to control where you apply. It's good for large areas, but less good for targeting specifics like the hairline.Overall - it's good minoxidil. High quality, high potency, and works well. If you want spray minoxidil, this is a good choice - but I prefer foam for convenience.

Thick Head Minoxidil Topical Solution Extra StrengthI have used Rogaine for several months prior to starting this one so I already have experience in the use of this product. I had results within 2 months of using the brand name and so far I am maintaining those results and adding a bit more regrowth with continued use of this one.The foam is much easier to apply than the liquid method and even though this is unscented, I can still smell a medicinal scent but that goes away quickly. It doesn't burn or cause any irritation and I haven't had any issues using this. It can take up to 4 months to show any improvement so you have to be patient.
