The CT clamp then measures the small magnetic field around the cable, which increases with a larger electricity flow through the cable. These CT clamps are ideal for measuring electricity flow through cables which cannot get a plug onto the end, for example, solar PV generation output from the inverter, monitoring electricity usage for machinery, monitoring air conditioning units and many more. The electricity usage measured by the CT clamp is then converted into a radio signal by the sensible transmitter which can then be received by current cost devices such at the Envir Monitor and Netbridge Gateway which can monitor Channel Zero for the whole building, plus an additional 9 Channels 2X size D batteries are included in the transmitter. Transmission distance is 100 metres unobstructed but reduced by transmission through walls. Rule of thumb to deduct 30M per wall.
