MAGNECTOR X-202 High Performance Sony Xperia Z1 / Z2 / Z3 Charging Cable - Improved Magnetic Connection and Charging Speed

Works perfectly with my 10.1" Xperia Z2 tablet.Magnet is nice and strong. It connected simply - first time. Tablet recharged in a decent time. Much easier than fiddling with the usb flap!!.It is really clear and obvious where it goes. I tried to see if I could 'get it wrong' by turning the tablet upside down, or by attaching it to the wrong place, but you can't.The only drawback is the length of the cable (I would like it to be longer) but since it is is exactly the length described, I cannot knock a star off for that.Update after six months:I have bought a few alternative cables - one for the office, one for the car, one beside my bed, etc. This is the best of the lot for connecting easily and quickly.There is an alternative one called "Bocideal Arrivail" which is a longer cable and has LED lights which are useful, but they don't connect quite as well as this one does.

The magnet is quite strong, attaches very easily and accurately and the whole product is made of high quality materials - not cheap, but durable plastic with a nice finish. I previously bought a magnetic attachment for the micro usb charger that came with the phone. It was about 3 pounds but very poor quality - it was fiddly, didn't fit well and if I only slightly moved the phone, it used to disconnect. This charger's magnet is strong enough to allow you to handle the phone while charging, as long as you don't pull too hard. Unfortunately not like the magnetic chargers of the mac laptops, but this is only just a phone and it was only intended to be charged that way through the dock, not via a magnetic cable. So glad I purchased the product - it's well worth the money.

Arrived very quickly, came in a nice and professional looking box, the magnet is very strong and sticks very well and charges my phone to full in 2-3 hours depending how depleted the battery is, this is a top end product but felt it could have been priced more competatively but that said that should not take away from the product that works exactly as it should.My review is based on over a months usage as of 03/02/15Update 18/01/20171 year usage down the line the strong magnet has pulled out the charging points from the phone itself, now whether this is completely this products fault as the magnet is really strong or Sony needed to use better quality glue to hold the charging points in place i cannot say but now I cannot use it and gone back to traditional micro usb charging.

Happy with my purchase. It arrived on the first day of the estimated delivery date. The connection is good although not as strong as I expected. It might not fall of with careful use but it does shift about and can lose its connection. This isn't a problem for me as I don't generally use my phone while it's charging but it might be a little annoying for someone who does. I'm just glad I don't have to degrade the water resistant capability of my phone. It also comes with a little pull string pouch for safe keeping which is nice if you travel a lot. As stated it does not come with a plug, you can use the standard plug that comes with your phone provided it has a USB port. If I come across any issues I will post them here as quickly as possible.

This is a very good magnetic charger and fits my Xperia Z3 Compact perfectly. The magnet is strong enough to attach itself properly to the phone's connectors and to hold it there even if you pick up the phone and use it.I tried a couple of the cheaper ones and they were no good...fiddly to connect and would fall off easily.It really is worth paying the extra for this.I also got this Magnector  [ New Magnector X2 ] Improved High Performance Sony Xperia Z1 / Z2 / Z3 Magnetic Charging Adapter for Micro USB Cable - Advanced Magnetic Connection and Charging Speed / with Charging Status LED & Adapter Protection Case - (2014 Nov. Version) and it is just as good. Can thoroughly recommend both.

I have no problems with the product itself. It is let down by the Z3 Compact. I used it for three months and then one night the magnet was too strong for the connection and it came out. On closer inspection I noticed that the only thing holding the magnetic port dock on the phone was held in place by a small amount of glue.I have researched the problem and it has been a problem since the Z1 days. Sony do not consider this to be a problem with the manufacturing and have been presented with quotes for around £170, which I cannot understand given that they just need to add a bit more glue.I phoned up customer services (inappropriately named), who said that I need to send it in before they will tell me if it is covered by the warranty. I do not fancy being without my phone for the weeks they need, only to be presented with a bill for £170.I am planning to glue it myself and hope for the best. It will mean losing Sony's worthless warranty, but better than the alternative.

For a short while, it would connect easily and charge well. It was brilliant for snapping my phone on charge in the dark. However after a few weeks of use, the casing started to split at the seams. I tried some super glue to keep it together, and that has worked, but it is far from ideal. I've not noticed my charging times being slower with this device, and it does grip well. The only problem is it falling apart under very little strain over time.
