Brilliant design
I had a broken bulge pump under the engine that I could not get to. I stalled this one and was able to move the suction part all the way to the back under the engine. The motor sits so it's easy to reach or repair if I have to.

Works well
It works really well. It pumps very differently from other bilge pumps - more violently actually. It pumps water like a single cylinder unbalanced engine. The hoses from the pick-up to the pump and from the pump to the output shake violently while the pump is running so they need to be secured otherwise they will flop and bang around. The water sensor is located at the top of the pickup so the water needs to get to about 4 or so inches deep before the pump starts. There is an override to the sensor that starts the pump when tied to +12V. I wired this to an external level sensor to keep the water level lower than 4" - making the automatic sensor a backup. Overall, it works well. Pumps out the water quickly... and violently.

A winner
This bilge pump was a bit trickier to install because of its design (extra wires to run, needed to find a spot to put it, etc.), but absolutely thrilled with the result. Good quality, plenty of power, dead easy to wire up, quiet and now easy to access. I'm actually going to buy another one for the shower sump.
