good quick read, perfect to have your teenagers thinking about fascism
Good book, quick read (for a 40+ like me). I admit to my shame I had never heard from it before although I have quite a lot of Nazi history books. The story is quite good, well told, with a good crescendo. It is a bit dated and far fetched (in that the parents seem to let this go a tad too long), but it is a really good book for your kids to read and get started on a discussion about fascism. I will give it to my 15-year-old daughter asap.

Highly Recommend
i loved this book it really is a fantastic read about the way in with people and particularly young people are susceptible to influence and how this theory fits in with naziism and also the stanford prison experiment and the blue eyes and brown eyes experiment.by giving the students a purpose and a cause and a sense of worth you see them strip themselves of all rational logical thought when they refuse to let others in without doing the wave salute and how there are very few who recognize and try to stop what is happening with the students reaching out to other students to gain followers.an incredible book.highly recommend.

Thought provoking
Saw the Documentary on TV and wanted to read up on this experiment. Told in a very straightforward way very powerful and thought provoking.

Frustrating writing style.
Great story, terribly written. My mum recommended it to me and she is an English teacher. So there you go. Must be good.

Four Stars
Interesting, esp that it's based on a true story, but lacked some sparkle.

The Wave
I had already read this book, so bought this copy for my son. It's abrilliant story and I couldn't put the book down until I had read all of it. It shows how peoples minds can be changed without them realising what path they could be going down.

Eyeopener
Shocking! But it is still happening today. For all who are concerned about the forces at work on our young people. Do read it, it will open your eyes.

Fascinating
The original experiment had fascinating results that said more about the mass psychology of fascism than William Reich ever did. This novelisation of the experiment (a first?) is a slight, easy to read work that is rather simplistic in its' characterisation and conclusions. If you are expecting great literature you will be disappointed. It is perhaps aimed primarily at the inteligent end of the teenage market. It is entertaining and thought provoking and well worth a quick read. I got through it in three hours straight and at the very least it whetted my appetite for the forthcoming German film of the same name and subject.
