Double bill of animated children's features. 'Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs' (2009) follows the adventures of Flint Lockwood (voice of Bill Hader), a fairly unsuccessful amateur scientist who appears to have developed a device that will bring an end to world hunger. Unfortunately his invention, which causes food to rain out of the sky, ends up causing more trouble than good as his town is flooded with more food than people know what to do with. Flint and weather girl Sam (Anna Faris) must try and figure out what has gone wrong and save their town from disaster. In 'Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2' (2013) Flint is offered employment at the Live Corp Company, a prestigious facility where the greatest minds are given free rein to pursue their ideas. There he works with his idol Chester V (Will Forte) and his assistant Barb (Kristen Schaal), an orang-utan in possession of a human brain thanks to the experiments of Chester. However, what seems an ideal life for Flint is thrown into turmoil when he discovers that his most famous invention is being used to create bizarre creatures that are half-animal and half-food, such as tacodiles, shrimpanzees and apple pie-thons. Can Flint and his friends put a stop to the chaos? The product have UV code.

Brilliantly quirky animated kids classic
These films are so clever and heavily underrated in my opinion. Something for kids and adults to enjoy. With subliminal messages about greed, kids and adults that are different, winning through and a tiny bit bonkers. Who ever came up with this is a genius!

Warning: If you are buying this for the Hebrew or Arabic dubbing...
... Be forewarned that ONLY the first movie is dubbed into these languages, and not the second. The second movie does not even have subtitles in these languages. The description on Amazon is (unintentionally, I assume) misleading on this point.Besides that, these are great movies!

Two very different films
(1) is a classic, a true family film that rewards with new hidden depths on every viewing, a great balance of style and content.(2) has the same characters, most of the same voices, and the best of the same gags, but is otherwise a very different feeling film, and certainly does not initially have the same appeal to older viewers. Hoping it might grow on us, but primarily a cutesy kids' film, with visuals taking centre stage over story.Good value bundle though, and comes on two discs (in one case), contrary to Amazon's description.

Good film
My class enjoyed the first film. If they're good, number 2 could be their treat before we break up for Easter!
