I hooked up the wires (of course I mixed up the red with the white at first ; -), then I got it right and it works nicely. If it should break down I'll buy a couple more replacements of the same. It blinks when you disarm it from remotes that may try to open the door. Special button, bottom left, that engages and disengages the disarm feature. The light is always on and not blinking to help find the switch in the dark. **Q: Can this unit be programmed to automatically close after a certain period of time?** A: No, it's a simple push button.
