Update 5/21/2026 - The seller emailed me directly as a result of this review and offered an upgraded version at no charge. I was hesitant at first because I didn't think Amazon sellers were allowed (or able) to contact customers directly, but after I confirmed it was a legitimate message through their official support email, I proceeded with the upgrade. It arrived yesterday and I got it installed with no problems. Raising my rating back to 5 stars, hopefully this unit doesn't randomly reset on me! The new unit has brass bittings, no leaks so far. This sprinkler timer is working well enough. I'd give it 5 stars, but about 2 days after the initial programming it decided to reset itself to factory defaults. Still not sure why. That was about 3 weeks ago and it's been working fine ever since, so hopefully it was just a one-time fluke. Update 4/28/2026 - Device reset itself again yesterday. I hope this doesn't become a regular thing. Update 5/19/2026 - Device reset itself again. Programming the device is easy enough. I like that it's easy to manually disable everything using the dial (without losing schedules), and I also like that I can manually turn on either zone for a set amount of time outside of the schedules. The fittings, despite being plastic, are working just fine for me. No leaks. Worth mentioning I have mine in the shade, so I have no concerns about UV damage over time.

Update: received a replacement for the broken timer. Will edit the review again if I run into the same issues. Original: Was initially very happy with this timer, was working great to keep my garden healthy all year. However, after only using this for less than a year I have already ran into issues. First, the timer reset itself and was watering less frequently than I originally set it up for. Then, the shutoff valve broke and the system would stay on after it started. Luckily, I can usually hear it running and go turn it off before it runs for days on end... At this point it's completely useless after only about 9 months of use. For the price I should have been able to get years of service out of this thing, will be staying away from battery powered timers from now on.

I have 4 of these Rainpoint water timers that manage my entire landscape watering system. They work flawlessly, are super easy to install, set up and require no maintenance other than battery replacements which I do once a year. I live in Florida so I do change my watering times in the summer to water more frequently and less frequently in the winter months. Manual watering is also easy to activate when needed. As you can see in the pictures I put this unit under the shed skirting to keep it out of site. I also use 2 of these units to manger my entire side yard with over 50 tropical plants. This unit also works flawlessly. As you can see by the picture, my tropical garden is in great shape and gets watered daily. I also installed this timer in a water box below ground in my paver area. I want to commend customer service on this product. I had an issue with the product and the customer service rep was AWESOME. He recognized my issue and immediately replaced the item. That said I love this timer. It is easy to set up and a good value price wise. Its function for my 12 raised bed gardens allows me to set two different zones at different times.

Had mine for over a year now and they are still working phenomenally. HIGHLY recommend. I had one issue, when I bought one (I have two) it came broken. Right away it was leaking, I contacted RainPoint and they upgraded mine to the brass timer! Great customer service. I would recommend spending the extra money and going with the brass versions. I have never had an issue with them missing a water timing or not running when it shouldn’t. The set up and just the use of it is simple. I will only use RainPoint going forward!

The Rainpoint timer is exactly what I was looking for to complete my irrigation project. Easy to install and set up with a viewable digital display screen that alternates between the current time and the next watering cycle. It’s dependable and allows separate watering zones to be set up independently, and, it’s easily changed as needed. Completely eliminated the need for watering by hose once my drip system was in place. I bought this to replace one I bought about a year ago. The product performs very well, but the follow up customer service, when needed, was what truly makes this company shine and the Rainpoint timer worth buying. I highly recommend it to anyone needing a water timer. Most importantly, a company that really stands behind its products.

I loved this timer dearly while it worked as summer season Too bad, that it did not start working properly after long time of rest during winter season. Water did not flow in one of the zones, despite of numerous attempts to fix /activate the valves. Anyway, I contacted the RainPoint and they sent me a replacement of the timer, without me asking for it, actually two of them since I bought two.)) At this point i am pleased with customer service, but not convinced that next spring I would not run into same issue. Will need to clean the timer valves after the season, too. This possibly could be an issue.

We have been using the water timer now for a week. So far so good. It was easy to set up and turns the water on as programmed. We love the second spot so we can have 2 zones for our irrigation system.

It really has the extra pressure and greater flow compared to the cheaper versions, Very happy with the results!

This dual water timer did not leak, was easy to program and has been working really well with our drip hoses to keep some of our garden watered.

Just installed and seems to be working fine. Quite easy to set watering times. Would appreciate if the hose connections were metal instead of plastic but will see how it holds up long term.

On its second season now. The UI is close to perfect: you set a the current time of day, a start time and an interval (12 hours, 1 day, 2 days, etc.). This means it doesn't need to know the day of the week, and if you want 4x per day you set ONE start time, not 4, and then it just goes every 6 hours after that. The second zone does add some clicking and complexity and there's no avoiding that. The single-zone version of this device would be the perfect timer.
