Lovely but could be improved
While I was shopping around for a traditional looking gas stove this is the only one that I found that was small enough to go where I wanted as it just fits a 7kg bottle. Despite this it costs considerably more. The casting on it is brilliant and it looks amazing. However as I say it costs much more so you expect everything about it to be perfect. It does have a couple of niggles which you wouldn't expect for the price. The seal around the back panel that you remove to fit the gas cylinder falls off and isn't glued on. The fit for the cylinder is very tight, I had to bend the copper gas pipe that runs from the top of the stove to the bottom to get the cylinder in and there is no protection for this on the inside so it would be quite easy to damage if you weren't careful putting the cylinder in. Lastly the starter on it is quite stiff and awkward to operate. If there had been something else available in the size I was after I am not sure I would have put up with these flaws. Don't get me wrong I love the look of the fire and it does put out a good amount of heat but I wouldn't describe it as perfect.

Thurcroft Living Flame Stove
Purchased the stove approximately 12 months ago. Used for additional heat in our dinning room. Very economical producing good heat. Downside is switching on/off the gas. Very awkward bad design. The stove can be very noisy to a point it has to be switched off to hear yourself speak.

Just what I needed for the conservatory
When we moved our new house had a LARGE conservatory It had a radiator form the gas CH system, but I really did not want to run the central heating in what was little more than a "greenhouse". Purchased this and it is fantastic. We had to run it longer than stated to get rid of the smell (there is always a bit of a pong with calor heaters) but over time this has nearly gone and it is great for taking the chill of first thing for breakfast. We put it on full power half an hour before we want to go into the conservatory for breakfast and then turn it down to the lower setting. It looks good, is economical and as the gas is paid for in advance there are no nasty shocks in billing. We love it.

Very useful stove
We purchased this stove nearly 10 years ago to heat an unheated office space. Now used mainly to heat our large summer house/bunk house in the winter. Very useful standby if the gas or electricity are off for any reason. Looks good and moves easily. We wouldn't be without it.

A good looking and very efficient stove
We bought his stove to heat our conservatory fort he times when we just wanted a quick blast of heat and didn't want to put the underfloor heat info n and wait 4 hours for it to warm up. The stove looks good and certainly throws out the heat. The flame/coals look lovely and make the conservatory feel really cosy. The stove has piezo instant ignition and has a high or low heat setting. On the downside, it is a bit noisy. One real design flaw, in our opinion, is that you cannot turn the stove off using the control knob on the top oft he stove. Instead you have to get behind the stove, reach in through a 'window' in the back and turn it off at the regulator. This may not sound like too much of a problem but we keep our stove in the corner of the room so reaching around and into the back of a very hot stove is a little awkward to say the least. No burns yet but we have only had it a few days.......
