This worked perfect for a 2016 Yukon. The problems in other reviews seem to be an issue with the newer model but the reviews listed are for both, so make sure you are looking at the right ones. The attachments for this one are very straightforward.

They look good seem as if they are good quality. Nice product. I totally understand the idea of trying to be cost effective. However it would be more efficient if you included the lock tight in a little packet other then having someone put way to much on the bolts then pack it up the stuff dries and then the bolts don’t go in and the head strips out. Yea love taking all the extra free time I don’t have to scrap half the dried up lock tight off and hope I don’t strip the head out. Then got to tap it out and waste another 49 min of time.

The rack is very solid and definitely heavy duty. The instructions are not inclusive of how to adjust the clamping pressure. On the inside of the clamp part there is a plastic cover. Remove that cover and you can access the bolt that adjusts the clamping pressure. I suggest you test (and if necessary) adjust the clamping pressure before you assemble the rail. It’s much easier than trying to adjust clamping pressure when the rail is on your vehicle.

I assembled the entire racks, and when I installed them, the clamps from the factory were not set with enough tension to pinch on the roof rails enough to keep the racks in place without sliding on the roof rails. There are no instructions on how to adjust the tension on the clamps. However, the wrench was included and if you want screw the interior plates, you can access the nut adjust. There’s no gauge on how much to adjust it and, when you try to clamp on the roof rail, if there’s too much tension, it will completely strip out the threads. So now I have a useless pair of roof racks that I can’t use. Maybe that’s why the name brands are so expensive.

These are significantly cheaper than the GMC parts and are just as good quality. As others have mentioned, the instructions are confusing, but read above to make sure the bolt inside the cover is adjusted properly.

For some reason the directions do not tell you how to adjust the clamp pressure. Thankfully another review explained how. On the underside of the clamp there is a plastic cover with two Philip head screws. Take that cover off and use the double ended wrench in the box(smaller size). Rotate the bolt to the right to tighten and left to loosen. Do this before attaching the clamps to the side bar!!Other than that this is a solid unit!
