Do the hinges lock in place? Can I use it on my lap?

Nope, there are no mechanical locks on both hinges. It's doable to use it on your lap, but insure that the hinges rest above your lap, that mean's your knees shouldn't be too far apart.

It takes about 2 hours to fully charge the keyboard. One full charged allowing for 150 days standby time.
