Really easy to fit and look amazing compared to the 1970s monstrosities that were there before. A little tricky to fathom out as I didn't receive the instructions that other people said had been emailed to them. Quite easy when you take some time to figure it out though1) Take the small central bulb holder and manually hold the wiring bracket next to either one of the 2 lugs on the bulb holder so that the holes line up. Ensure that the bracket is on the outside of the lug2) Approaching from the outside edge, insert one of the springs into the bracket that you are holding against the bulb holder lug. The small arm of the spring should be facing downwards, and the long arm facing upwards. The spring will now be holding the wiring bracket tight to the lug3) use same procedure to attach the remaining spring4) Position springs so that the long arms are oriented vertically and loosely thread the entire assembly through the hole in the larger plate. At this stage do NOT push the bulb holder home, just leave it all dangling loose5) You can now wire up the lamp to the wires in your ceiling6) Push and hold the outer plate flat against the ceiling7) Ensure that the springs are facing vertically and carefully push them through the main plate and into the ceiling void until the small arms of the springs touch the outer plate8) Push firmly on the bulb holder and the springs will do their magic and hold everything to ceilingPicture shows everything assembled just prior to connecting the wiring i.e, step 5)

GOOD "BIG HOLE" CONVERSION KIT.
Arrived when expected.I fitted them yesterday and they work well.I was worried they might not fit the holes in the ceiling properly but they did. I read the reviews before buying them and I echo the remarks made by others ,that the instructions could have done with an illustration or two, but once I worked out how to do one, the other four were simple.I used the Long Life Lamp Company 5w gu10 LED lamps ,and the improvement in light against my old halogens, is remarkable.I would recommend both the company , and the conversion kits.

4 stars for the poor instructions but product is great
As with other reviews takes you a while to figure out the set up but once you do it's very simple. Ordered 7 originally & have now ordered an additional 2. 4 stars for the poor instructions but product is great.

The chrome Downlighter conversion kit are very good and cover the hole which was cut for the old down light. After assembling the first one and fitting the next 9 that I fitted it was quicker to assembly all and then fit them. After assembling it is easy to push the centre light holder through the outer part of the down light with out damagingthe ceiling

Impressed.....
Excellent kit, very easy to fit, around 10 minutes to replace 4 crazy 1970's brass 'eyball' monstrosities we inherited in our new house. These covered the large 12mm holes the old lights left perfectly, give great light (using led gu10 50w equivalent bulbs) and look quality. I used the mains lighting connections, good to see the supplier also adds the kit for low voltage 12v connections (minus transformers).

Converting old downlighting
Fitted in 30 minutes to replace my five old R80 spotlights in my kitchen. We have always been concerned with aesthetics and these really look "the business"One thing though, initially, I used 7w super bright LED GU10 light bulbs which were much to bright. I have changed these to 5w soft white ( equivalent to 50w ) LED GU10 bulbs which give a more ambient light.

Absolutely brilliant
Once sussed out how to fit the clips, so simple and look wonderful. Stupidly had plaster re-skim even when plasterer asked if I was changing the old r80 down lights in the hallway and landing.Thought I could manage with old lights! Then after decorating looked awful. Searched the Internet and found these wonderful lights on Amazon. Thank you so much. Looks like a professional job. Can't see any of the old hole in ceiling.
