Garbage Trucks (Mighty Machines) Paperback – January 1, 2006

It's fun for small children who love garbage trucks, but it could be better. For example, different kinds of garbage trucks are pictured, but there is no explanation of the differences -- i.e, some load trash in the back while others use an "arm" to lift the cans over the top; some carry recycling to be made into new products, while others take trash to the dump. My son enjoyed the pictures but the text could be a lot more educational. Also, be aware that despite the toddler-friendly subject matter, the pages are thin paper, so don't expect a toddler-proof book.

The perfect book for my 2.5 year old son who loves "green garbage trucks." He sits and looks at the pictures for a long time and loves reading about how the truck works. I like the large size with big pictures. I only wish there were even more details because my son is so curious!

Really expected a little more action. The narrative is a little boring, and some of the pictures are taken from the non-active side of the truck while explaining what's going on. Had hoped for something my son would really dig (he loves our garbage men, but we often miss them at 6am on a Monday), but he moved on pretty quickly from this one.

this book is great. Not alot of writting on each page but enough to get you started than you can just add your own story on top of what is already written.. pictures are great too....

good pictures, but kind of limited about information regarding garbage trucks. Also, dated information about recycling trucks. I am keeping it around to maybe make a collage with my son out of all the cool garbage truck pictures so that is why I give it the three stars.

Our grandson - for some strange reason - at age 3 is really into garbage trucks and such. For him this is a great book!

I bought this book (as well as another garbage truck book) for my 4 and 5-year olds as stocking stuffers. They absolutely LOVE this book!!! They love garbage trucks, so this book as a Christmas gift idea made perfect sense. The print is large and the book is inspiring my 5-year old to want to read!!!!

As this book is aimed at children i would have expected the pages to be far less flimsy, however my little boy loves this book and the picures and descriptions on each page are great, despite the flimsy paper, i am surprised to say that there have been no tears to the pages and my son has had this for 6 months now!

If you kid loves the bin men buy this books, it's not war and peace but it lists all the bits of bin lorry s and has loads of colour pictures
