Someone in the comments mentioned shining a coin, but didn't say what kind.** A: Hi Barb, Rolite Metal Polish will work great on pennies! In fact, pennies are one of the items we use as demonstrations at trade shows. Using a microfiber cloth, put a small dab on the penny and gently swirl it around in a circular motion. You will see the oxidation immediately and it will turn black. Then use a clean section of the cloth and buff it off while it is still moist. **Q: will this prevent rust?** A: This is not a one time application. When the subject matter loses it shine, reapply the polish to make shinny and new again. You would have to apply a sealer to prevent rust. **Q: Can I polish my pocket knife with this?** A: Absolutely! First clean the surface to be polished and then add a very small amount with a clean microfiber and rub gently in a circular motion.
