TIP if you get one of these vacumes they are virtually indestructible. I've had mine for a good 10 years now with no issues at all. The second tip is when using the Mirka sanding blocks with vacuum extraction put an old sports sock over the vacuum exhaust hole to prevent all fine dust leaks. It's almost as if the exhaust hole is designed for this as it has a lip around the edge to aid coiling the power lead up when not in use and this fits the end of a sock perfectly and keeps it then when in use. The vacume also has a uk 3 pin power take off socket and it works to turn on the vacume when any plugged in electric sander is turned on. I also use masking tape to link the black hose to electrc sanders with a vacume hose attatchment ability when not using the mirka sanding block. The sanding block abradent strips come in all grades and it's a great bit of kit, great for unclogged sanding of all home DIY jobs. I even sand down ready to pollish up G Plan furnature, ceilings, walls, doors etc.. brilliant is the best description. saving up to buy the Mirka elecric sander next.. **Q: Can it connect to other type of vacuum cleaner, eg. However, the sanding process can generate finer dust than a domestic level machine is designed to cope with, so that's something to be aware of. We don’t have a Henry which everyone seems to report it being best to attach to** A: I had a similar concern - didn't want to clog up and burn out our household Miele vacuum and didn't want to buy a Henry or shop vac. Instead, I bought a dust cyclone and flexible hose on Amazon, combined it with a plastic drum and now use it between the (in my case, orbital) sander and the vacuum cleaner. The cyclone removes the vast majority of the dust (note, a little does get through). Cheaper than a Henry too. The down-side is that it does take up a fair bit of room, both in use and in the garage. Would recommend ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ STATIC SHOCKS!! *by B***D on 20 April 2026* Firstly I want to say that this set is an absolute must if you've got more than the odd patch of filler to sand. I've been using it in conjunction with Roll Nova roll-on plaster. The combination of the two is absolutely amazing. Definitely saved myself a lot of money on getting the wall re-skimmed professionally and the finish is flawless. HOWEVER! The static shocks I get from this thing are unreal! They seemed to get progressively worse until the last one I got litterlally blew my hand open, genuinely painful! It had me wondering if it was definitely a static shock and not an actual classic electrocution situation, but alas the whole thing is made of plastic.
