The ac system has to have the adequate amount of refrigerant oil and the right amount of refrigerant. The ac compressor comes with some oil. Depending on the parts of the ac unit that are changed before charging will determine how much oil to add back in the system. I’ve never done anything with an ac unit, but I also do extensive research before tackling any project. I changed out just about every part in my ac (including o rings) and charged it without any problems. This compressor works great, my air is 42 degrees F coming out the vents. My only question to this point is longevity. Only time will tell. Don’t let the bad reviews deter you. This compressor is cheap and works great.
