HAPPY CAMPER!!!!
I received this as a gift....I LOVE IT!!!!!I'm a pillow beater. Not sure how many pillows I've tried over the years, but mine always end up in a lumpy ball by morning. Feather, foam. You name it, I've prob had one. And the only one who can fluff it right is my wife. Its been several months now and have been sleeping well with this since day ONE. My wife says I hardly move at night any longer.....I think that scared her the first few night thinking I was dead or something...LOL. And she NEVER fluffs my pillow any more. I simply flip it over in the morning and its ready to go for bedtime.I'm typically a side sleeper, so YES, the pillow is a little crunchy on the ear but that doesn't seem to bother me at all.And NO, your head will not disappear in folds of fluff like some might. I'm sure its not for everyone, but it seems to stay cool (which I like) even though its not what I'd call a quiet pillow. But I sleep better now than I have in a long time. The pillow is heavy, more than I would have thought. Very firm but easy to nest your head in a comfortable position with a little wiggling and it stays that way, and it does move with you as you adjust throughout the night. There is an oder to the cover when you receive it, simply wash it first before using and its gone. I believe I read that somewhere by others.I'm taking it with me when I travel.

Worth getting used to!
Works great for side and back sleeping. Can adjust the hulls to desired height and they don't shift enough to notice. I keep the sides thick for side-sleeping and the center very carved out for back sleeping. Whether I fall asleep on my back or side, I wake up on my back because it is so comfortable.Explanation for "very carved out for back sleeping": hulls removed from the side-to-side center and top-to-bottom center so that my head is practically on the mattress, but built up so my neck is completely supported.

Very nice!
The very first night I got this pillow, I woke up every two hours and had the worst night of sleep I ever had. I kept using the pillow, and now I am in love with it! I just had to get used to it. I did open the pillow up and cut the two dividers which separate the husks. I highly recommend you cut those dividers so that the husks can move freely within the case. This allows the husks to conform to your neck and head - which this pillow is great with! Also, the pillow weights 9lbs for those who may need to know about how heavy it is - VERY!

... from this seller and all of them have been excellent. This one is
This is the third buckwheat pillow I have purchased from this seller and all of them have been excellent. This one is, too. Unfortunately, at this size, it is unmanageable for someone with severe arthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome, simply because it is sooooo heavy and bulky that it's impossible to move around during the night without causing excruciating pain. It's going to have to go back, but if you are young and strong, you will love it. It's especially nice because, unlike the others--which are still very good--it has a good, thick, quilted cover that is easier on the cheek than other buckwheat pillows.

Great once you wash away the smell on the case!
The smell was off putting at first, but I washed the case as previously advised (other reviews) and then removed a few cups worth quantity of the buckwheat filling and got it just to where I like it. I like to have a firm pillow, with room for my head to relax in a small cubby/hole for my head to nestle into. I have since replaced my usual foam pillow with this one and it keeps my head cool so I don't overheat and is extremely comfortable as others had advised it would be.

Finally a pillow I like
I have had many buck wheat pillows and wore them out and then switched to try others. Why? I have no idea. I like not having my head in a cloud and feel like I am being smothered. At first this pillow is really hard but after it starts to smush up. If you ever had a buckwheat pillow you understand what I am saying. I really love this pillow and my husband doesn't have to listen to me complain about all the other new pillows I have bought and tried anymore. Those make a good dog or cat bed tho. :)

It has a sturdy quilted cotton cover with a zipper closing
This is an extremely well made pillow. It has a sturdy quilted cotton cover with a zipper closing. Underneath, is another cotton case holding the buckwheat. The pillow is harder than I thought it would be, but the instructions advised opening it up and removing hulls to make it softer. I have done this twice and it is now at the level that is c comfortable for me. It is a fine product.

I'm not going to return it, but I don't love it.
Hmmmm. I like the weight of the pillow which keeps it from sliding off the head of the bed as some of our lighter weight pillows tend to do. It seems to be fine when I sleep on my right side, but unfortunately when I lie on my left side the firm pillow causes my ear to hurt. That ear must just stick out more :-). The temps are still cool, so I don't know yet whether it will be a pleasantly cool pillow come summer time. I'm not going to return it, but I don't love it.
