Amazing monitor, excellent colors, doesn't look any worse than my IPS main monitor. Menu is very easy to navigate and I didn't really change any of the settings myself as the picture out of the box looks excellent. Monitor has a mat coating which is awesome because it doesn't reflect anything and its comfortable to use in a bright room. My graphics card (gtx 1070) doesn't support VGA anymore so I had to buy DVI-D to HDMI cable separately, it comes with VGA to VGA cable only, so make sure you have all the available slots and cables before buying.4:3 aspect ratio isn't popular anymore but works extremely well if you need 2nd or 3rd display to extend your desktop space.

I was looking for a 5:4 ratio aspect monitor to replace one that broke down after 10 years. I need the old shape screen for working on documents, and the new wide-screen monitors are not good for this. It is like looking through a slit in the wall, and one needs to see a whole document page, not just a small portion of it. There seems to be very few of the old type on the market any more. So I took a chance on this HX194. It is a very moderate price compared with others.It was easy enough to set up and worked straight away as plug-and-play. The only thing that needed changing was the brightness. It is very bright on white documents compared to my old Asus monitor. So I have to bring the brightness right down and also change the digital vibrance in the Nvidia settings. It is difficult to work out how the controls work on the monitor buttons. The Quick Start Guide was no help with this, and I could find no users manual on the web.It is a monitor for work, not for gaming as its responses are not very fast. So I would only recommend it for anyone looking for a monitor for document work with the tradition aspect ratio.

Just the job! I bought this because of its square format - I have no use for the more common widescreen ones. An excellent, sharp display and very good price, too.

All as stated, 4:3 and works well

I had the 193 model and loved it. A sturdy heavy build, good image, wonderful. Until I damaged the screen...I immediately got the 194 as the 193 was unavailable, and after having two of them in as many weeks, I can say they're not very good at all.The build is noticably lighter and cheaper (although the price is the same!) and with in days, both monitors developed a shadowing effect when showing black text on white backgrounds.To say I'm disappointed is an understatement! Finding square monitors is getting harder and harder and so now I'm off to find a second hand 193 if I can.

I bought this because I wanted a larger screen, but NOT widescreen format because it would have been much too wide for my desk. This monitor gives very a clear display, but the built-in speakers are tinny and lacking any bass - hence only 4 stars.

First of all I should point out that this is not a proper review; more a comment that might help someone considering buying one. I had the earlier, similar Hanns G HX191 but it failed after several years. I almost bought this HX 194 because I really need the height of this type (for word processing etc.) rather than the width of the newer designs. I wondered, however, if a large enough widescreen one might offer similar height with the bonus of extra width, enabling me to have a Web browser and email program open at the same time and run Nikon photo processing software more easily.After some calculations on diagonals and pixel spacing I determined that a 24 inch widescreen model would indeed give the same picture height as this one and I bought this Acer for a little less money:- Acer K242HLbd 24 inch Widescreen FHD LED Monitor (5 ms, 100 M:1, ACM 250 Nits, LED, DVI with HDCP) - Black Measurements confirm that the picture height is the same and it has slightly higher higher resolution vertically:- 1080 vs 1024. Horizontally it is much more of course :- 1920 vs 1280.There are some snags:-1. Probably less guarantee - it is 2 years return to service centre.2. No loudspeakers, though my Hanns G ones were very tinny.3. You need enough desk space width.4. You need a computer that can drive it - all modern ones should be able to.So there you have it - a possible alternative, and it's really good for videos if that's your thing!

The actual design of the product is brilliant; sleek, thin and aligns beautifully with my 24 inch 16:9 monitor. However, I got a dud (warehouse) product so I had to return it. Refund was processed promptly. I then bought a Dell E1913, not quite as nice but half the price.

Livraison rapide et dans l'emballage de l'écran. Attention le colis ne contient pas de câble DVI-D.Je n'ai pas essayé les haut parleurs intégrés.

the monitor are clear and distinct and function very well. easy to install. the color and sound controls work very well.

Dopo un mese di utilizzo, purtroopo posso afferamre che mi sarà capitato un pezzo con delle problematiche, per esempio non si spegne , i tasti nella parte inferiore del monitor non funzionano, mai funzionati. Per spegnerlo devo staccarlo dalla correnteNon un affare anche se il prezzo era competitivo...

écran d'ordinateur dont le format n'est plus d'actualité ( 4/3) mais que je trouve plus approprié que le 16/9

Article reçu en parfait état, en 24 heures. Pour effectuer des travaux professionnelsde bureau, où je n'ai pas besoin de son et une image plus carrée que rectangulaire.Le réglage n'est pas difficile et une fois que c'est fait, on n'y touche plus alors la positiondes boutons de réglage est très secondaire.
