Creator Marc Cherry's commentary on the 23rd episode is full of anecdotes about how the show has evolved, favourite moments, tributes to stars whose timing and delivery have so much to add. Bonuses include a twenty minute "I Guess This Is Goodbye" feature - cast, sometimes emotionally, describing what the show has meant to them. Movingly it ends with a tribute to one of their number, who died soon after filming.Salute here a final treat for the fans.

All 23 episodes of the final season of DH present in this DVD set spread across 6 discs. Each episode filled with the entertainment that made this show a must for fans of drama with a bit of comedy and glitzy glamour thrown in with some realistic as well as unrealistic storylines, such as Gaby deciding to be the breadwinner of the family when a tragic event continued from season 7 as a main focus of this seaon, causes Carlos to leave his high paying job to train to be a counsellor. She goes from shopper to Personal Shopper to Head of VIP Sales in the space of what seems like just weeks. Great acting as always from the 4 leading ladies and some sad losses in this season along with guest appearances from old faces and new (Scott Bakula to name one). Definitely worth a purchase if you were a fan of the show.

The end of an era and what an end it was. I know a lot of people were disappointed with this season and would of prefered the producers to finish on season 7 but to me season 8 is where Desperate Housewives finally gets back on track. I have watched each season religously since it aired in 2004 and found both season 6 and 7 a little dull and repetitive in comparison to earlier seasons. Season 8 is a final farewell to the ladies and the producers pay homage to many of the chracters and storylines that made the show a sucess such as the reappearance of the blackmail letter, a brand new secret involving all the ladies and guest appearances from some of Fairviews most memorable characters. Full of laughter and tears, this season is a treat for any loyal Desperate Housewives fan and is a final farewell to some of the most beloved characters on television.

I used to look down my nose at DH. I'm not a 'soap' fan and thought this would be some dreadful Dallas-esque tripe, but after my husband came home from working abroad with very limited offerings on TV in English very enthusiastic about it, we decided to go back to the beginning and watch from the start. I'm so glad we did. yes, of course there times in the plot lines when you can't help but think "Really? Really???? we're supposed to believe that??" but to be honest its all part of the fun. No-one's pretending its anything other than light-hearted entertainment. the stories are good, the characters twisted and devious enough to be entertaining and the ladies whom it all revolves around are marvellous. Personally my favourite is Felicity Huffman who plays Lynette Scavo, for me the most interesting and human character of them all

I absolutely loved all of the series, got to know and love all the characters. A really good mix of comedy and drama.

If you've seen the rest, then you must see this. This last season sees the story return to its top form. Sure, the ending is a bit rushed but eight years [or 15 or so in series terms] is a long time for any series to run and this has certainly kept the momentum and interest.Containing 6 DVD's this final instalment brings the whole story to its conclusion. What's good is it doesn't just drop the characters, it attempts to give some idea of what happens to them after the series has finished. It also introduces new characters that have secrets of their own ....whatever they may be.

Excellent season not better then a couple of the others tho but still good fast delivery I recommend you to buy this you WILL not be disappointed

Deperate Housewives Eighth Season is the final series about lives in Wisteria Lane. Each Season of this excellent series brings surprises that make compulsive viewing, and hope for it to be brought back on TV.

My wife loves watching the show. Reminds us of the good times, before TV got stupid.

Dank Amazon darf ich bereits einen Tag vor dem Erscheinungstermin die letzte und achte Staffel dieser tollen Serie in den Händen halten. Zur Serie selbst muss ich glaub ich nichts sagen, denn wer sie mag, der hat mit Spannung jede Folge verfolgt, mitgefiebert, gelitten, gelacht, geweint und noch viel mehr. Mein Mann kann sich ja immer köstlich über mich amüsieren, wenn ich mit jeder Menge Emotionen die Folgen der Serie geschaut habe.Ich finde die achte Staffel wirklich sehr gelungen, sie liefert dem Zuschauer ein würdiges Ende für diese tolle Serie, auch wenn es schon schmerzt, dass dies die letzte Staffel sein wird.Doch nun zur Box selber. Schön ist, dass wir die letzte Staffel nun wenigstens gleich als komplette und nicht geteilte Staffel erwerben dürfen. Auch preislich kommt man den Fans hier etwas entgegen, erinnere ich mich doch da an Teilstaffeln für fast den gleichen Preis, dafür Daumen hoch. Die Discs sind wie bei allen bisher erschienen Boxen in dünnen Plastikhüllen verpackt und werden durch eine Papphülle zusammengehalten. Auf allen Covern ist das FSK Siegel abgebildet. Das Menü ist wie gewohnt hübsch gestaltet, wie auch bei den letzten Boxen. Etwas schade finde ich, dass auf den DVD Hüllen zwar die enthaltenen Episoden stehen, jedoch keine kleine Episodenbeschreibung wie es bei allen anderen Boxen der Fall war. Stattdessen können wir uns zwar die Mädels auf schmucken Bildern ansehen, trotzdem wäre mir die Episodenbeschreibung lieber gewesen.Ansonsten werde ich wohl die nächsten Tage erst einmal mit DVD gucken beschäftigt sein, um noch einmal alle Folgen ohne Werbeunterbrechung mit verfolgen zu können.Fazit: Ein toller Abschluss der Serie, für jeden Fan ein Muss im DVD Regal. Endlich ohne Werbung jede Folge genießen...

Après 8 ans (ou 12 ans pour la série avec le saut de cinq ans plus tard à la fin de la saison 4) de sombres secrets, de cadavres, d'humour, de drames, de situations rocambolesques, de maladies, de pédophilie, d'homosexualité et j'en passe car cette série a brisé tous les tabous de l'Amérique (ou presque car l'avortement n'a pas vraiment été abordé mais c'est un sujet très délicat aux USA). Cette superbe série est terminée... Et terminée au bon moment je pense (même si j'aurais aimé une neuvième saison) mais la série s'était beaucoup trop essoufflée. Déjà que la saison 7 était nettement moins bien que les autres avec des intrigues qui partent dans tous les sens et l'arrivée de Renee la nouvelle voisine inutile, la saison 8 ne tourne plus que autour d'un seul et unique secret qui "monopolise" toute la saison : le meurtre du beau-père de Gaby par Carlos. Lors du visionnement de cette dernière saison, j'ai réussi à m'ennuyer devant certains épisodes dits "de transition" par certains (en particulier après les longues pauses d'un mois ou plus aux USA) mais j'ai trouvé qu'il y a eu beaucoup trop d'épisodes "de transition". En effet puisqu’il n'y a qu'un secret, c'est difficile de faire des épisodes variés donc on sent que le réalisateur ne sait plus trop quoi faire et fait tourner la saison en rond. Il y aura eu aussi des événements inutiles comme la mort d'un personnage en particulier (je pense que vous devinez qui c'est) , sa mort n'a servi strictement à rien, ils l'ont tué surtout car il ne servait plus à grand chose depuis déjà un moment. Autre chose assez inutile, le retour des anciens personnages (Andrew, Julie, Orson, et Katherine) , que dire si ce n'est que leur retour n’était pas indispensable, en particulier pour Katherine que l'on voit moins de 5 minutes dans l'ultime épisode et qui a une attitude plus qu'énervante. Pour Andrew, Orson, et Julie c'est la même chose, on est contents de les revoir mais c'est tout (et encore Orson pas vraiment !). J'ai adoré Bree durant toute cette saison, elle joue superbement son personnage et est poignante de réalité quand elle est au plus bas dans la chambre du motel ou lorsqu'elle est saoule et qu'elle reproche aux filles de l'avoir délaissée. J'ai aussi adoré Madame McCluskey qui était à la fois drôle et touchante. Pour conclure j'ai trouvé la fin originale et assez émouvante, mais qui laisse malgré tout un gout amer.. On voit que Cherry ne savait pas vraiment comment conclure, mais il est vrai que conclure une série est tout sauf facile. Dur dur d'abandonner une série après toutes ces années, mais comme on dit, toutes les bonnes choses ont une fin ! Pour finir (avec une note négative) je reviens sur le design du coffret DVD, et je dois dire que je suis vraiment vraiment déçu, premièrement pour une dernière saison, le coffret est médiocre, pour la septième saison il y avait les résumés des épisodes derrières les boîtiers et il y avait de la couleur, le seul hic est qu'il n'y a plus de photos sur les DVD, ils sont juste gris ... Je suis encore plus déçu pour la dernière saison, je pensais que le coffret serait un des plus beaux et au contraire il est trop simple, les DVD sont toujours gris et le fabricant ne s'est même pas donné la peine de mettre les résumés des épisodes, et le boitier est noir tout simplement .... pitoyable.
