Another brilliant and important book from Peter Cossins, This is a fantastic story about how the Tour originally came into existence and that first ever Tour. The research required to write a book like this has to be appreciated.

This man is PROLIFIC...so many books to his name.

As a fan of the grand tours and especially the TDF it was great to read how it all started. Would recommend this book.

Peter Cossins has done a great job of pulling together contemporary accounts of the first Tour. His recounting of the individual stages is enthralling, with the efforts of these incredible athletes making it difficult to put the book down. Great for any Tour fan!

Livre offrant beaucoup de détails intéressants. Le contexte de la genèse du premier tour de France n'est absolument pas négligé. L'auteur réalise également des parallèles très pertinents avec la société de l'époque. Je le conseille vivement.
