Cannonball Run 2 (Burt Reynolds /Dean Martin DVD)

This was a complete waste of money. First of all, this release feels like a pirated copy. Menu just has two options, no bonuses, not even language options. The film quality is like from a bad VHS and the sound mixing jumps in quality at times.And then of course there's the problem that this movie is crap. The first Cannonball Run was a fun, digestible romp with lot of impressive stuff happening. I liked it enough to inspire me to get the sequel anyway. But the sequel is just so spiritless. It's like a recording of the cast's vacation of something. They're all just buddy-buddy with some lame wisecracking thrown in, thinking that's enough to sell the film to viewers. Thee action scenes are lame and unimaginative, I can't remember anything besides the underwater Mitsubishi scene.Don't buy this. Even if you desperately want this movie for some specific reason, this is just a awful DVD release and you'll likely be better off with a blu-ray release if it appears in the future.

Nice to see in wide screen compared to my old pan & scan DVD ... but audio in the last 15 minutes is clearly out of synch with a half second or more delay. Image quality seems very soft, although this may be due to the print. There's another bluray version of this film from Sweden or Denmark which is likely better than this very dodgy MediumRare release. I wasn't expecting miracles, knowing the film and its age - but this version is disappointing.

This is a review for the product I received, First up it took 3 Day's to receive, I opened the package & what was inside? A roll of Marble effect tape,,, "Yes" that's what I received, how a roll of Marble effect tape resembles a Blu Ray beats me..

Some films don't age well :(The Blu-ray quality here is lost on movies this old, I'm sure there are other people more clued in with the technical stuff of old movies being restored to hd quality. But this looked bad, not unwatchable as this movie was never to be taken seriously but picture wise it not very good. However it did come with the dvd as well.

It's good to see this film again, the first time I've seen it on either DVD or Bluray. It's not quite as good as the first one, and sometimes it's not as funny as the director/producer/writer thinks it is. Some of the comedy is a bit laboured, but it's worth watching anyway. I believe there is another one that came after this, but I'm not sure. For diehard Burt Reynolds fans, this is still a treat.

Not as good as the first one but still plenty laughs and action in this one. I liked the Orangutan that was driving the Limo or appeared to be lol. As usual there were the crazy mad antics in trying to win the race and the mega bucks. I definitely recommend watching it.

The early versions has a yellowish cover. Unless you're happy with a 4:3 aspect ratio, don't buy this version.The later version is wide screen, cover is white with blue title.

Probably my fault for not checking but I was disappointed that this wasn't in wide screen format. Otherwise, an entertaining romp full of the stars of the time. You don't buy this expecting a great story, it's just a bit of fun.
