My Very First Joke Book

Great wee book for youngsters

I bought this for my grandson as a stocking filler and I allowed him to open it yesterday, he thought it was really funny. We both had a good laugh at some of the jokes and took turns at reading them out to each other.They're not all funny (to be expected) but most are, and he's only 6 so things likeWhat do you call a gorilla with bananas in his ears....anything you like he can't hear you, make him split his sides.To us this is really old, to him it's as fresh and funny as the day we heard it for the first time. The fact that it has a little illustration with a child next to the gorilla shouting "Hey Smelly" made it even more hysterical for him. What could be nicer than listening to a child's laughter, nothing I can think of. Buy it, and go back to being a child for a little while, it's great fun...honest!

I bought this for my seven-year-old son, and I find it useful to read to him at night when he's worried he's going to have nightmares. This book has him giggling so much, he goes to sleep happily instead!It's a very short book, only sixty pages, with one or two jokes on each page. Each page does also have a humorous illustration, and the reading age is 6+ years if the child is reading it themselves. The author gives a couple of pages each to a wide variety of joke formats, so there are send-ups of nursery rhymes, "Doctor, Doctor" and "Waiter, Waiter" jokes, knock-knock jokes, silly riddles, silly verses, and so on.It has proved a big hit with my son.

Bought this for my daughter's 6th birthday she into jokes, she loved this book and a few months in she's still going back, would recommend if your child is independently reading and loves jokes

My 5 year old son loves this book. He try's making up his own jokes which at 5 year old, the chickens crossed the road for an ice cream or knock knock who's there... No no no start again knock knock.... It goes on... Now he reads each joke from this book and he gets it ( and we laugh for the 1000th time) and it's great as he finds them funny too. There are no big words and the writing is bold and easy to read. It was a xmas present and it's already creased and folded where it's been opened and read many times. A great 1st read for a little joker.

Expected book to be bigger very small not a good price

Good first book

Bought this for my son first who read it but his little sister has also grown to use it as she's grown a bit. Good jokes, many are cheesy but it good fun for them.
