Good hitch, check trailer as well as their guidelines for the height
I like the hitch. It gets the job done, looks pretty sweet. If I had it to do over again I might get the 6” instead of the 8”. Based on my trucks height from the road to the receiver, I needed an 8” but I’m primarily towing my boat which comes up like halfway up the 8” drop hitch. So I could have been good with a 6” probably. I’d only need the 8” if I was towing a smaller landscape trailer or maybe some jet skis. Either way, if you follow their guidelines you shouldn’t have a problem with any trailer. But if you’re using it for just one thing mainly then you might not need as much of a drop as they tell you.

Beef. 2.5” shank 8” drop was perfect for my ram 2500
Beefy hitch. New truck sits higher and has a larger receiver than my old truck so I had to go hitch shopping. Seems crazy, but my 2019 ram 2500 4x4 needs an 8” drop hitch to pull my car hauler level. At the 8” drop setting I have a ball height of 17” and my car hauler tongue height is 16”. Finding a 2.5” shank hitch that has 8” of drop is trickier than you’d think. Local hardware stores had 8” drop hitches in the 2” flavor but they were only rated to 5000lb which is less than my trailer weighs so that’s a no go and I also prefer not to use the reducer sleeve in my 2.5” receiver. Enter bulletproof hitches. This thing is 50lb of carefree towing. I wish it was adjustable in 1” increments but it’s darn near the perfect hitch. It looks pretty crazy so I most likely won’t be leaving it on the truck when I’m not using it. I ordered bulletproofs locking hitch pins to secure it just in case I forget to remove it.Edit: towed with this hitch and my review remains 5 star. The powder coat has barely even begun to wear on the ball and the shank which is just amazing considering it’s just powder coat. The hitch is unquestionably strong. Ended up using the 6” drop setting which has my tongue 1” high whereas the 8” drop setting would’ve had my tongue 1” too low. That’s good it just means I have room for bigger tires (;

Pricey and not an easy bolt-on and go hitch for some vehicles
Very high quality, but buyers must know that it will rattle on bumps through your truck frame and be felt into the cab, and sadly it sets off my 2022 Ram 2500 backup sensors when I go into reverse. Customer service was responsive, fast, and friendly with informing me of my loss of warranty if I drill and alter they're design (to recess it in the receiver 1") which worked.

Wow is this beefy!
Bought this for my leveled 2015 GMC 2500HD. I’m someone who goes overkill on everything thinking of the absolute worst possible situation. Figured why go medium duty when I can go heavy duty. Even though BulletProofs medium duty can handle anything my truck can.This thing is extremely overkill for even me. It’s incredibly well built and very very heavy. Honestly if it wasn’t for me needing it for my trip ASAP and liking the fact that this has a pintle option I would proble send it back and get medium duty. This hitch will likley last me a lifetime.

Sub-par finish longevity
I started using this hitch in April of 2021 and, while the hitch seems structurally sound, the finish has significantly deteriorated in what I think is a short period of time. BulletProof states that the hitch is powder-coated and it is, though the finish seems to be very weakly bonded and at least 40% of it has flaked off with rust appearing on the bare spots. This has been used in the American Midwest and the finish has deteriorated much faster than any other powder-coated product I've ever seen used in the same environment.BullettProof has a "1 year cosmetic warranty which covers imperfections with the powder coated finish" and the blemishes started showing up in the first several months, but I couldn't be without it for a long period of time within the first year so I'm going to buy another product and keep this as a back-up.
