story of an inspirational woman
A privelege to read this book. Elizabeth Andrews was previously unknown to me and this book tell the story of her life of unstinting work. The first labour woman organiser for wales, she was instrumental in improving the lives of mining families in the South Wales coalfield .As a child in the fifties and sixties in the Rhondda valley, I and many others benefitted from her work without realising e.g.we had nursery education before it became the norm.Elizabeth Andrews story is inspirational and it is unusual to read such an amazing story of someone that I would say is relatively unknown.Glenys Kinnock who writes the foreword to the book and others who have promoted the work and memory of Elizabeth Andrews are to be congratulated .
