Quality Build - Easy to Adjust - Light Weight
The Ying Tripod Standing Laptop Desk Caught my eye because of the larger laptop platform and the lift-assist gas shocks; I also liked the looks. I had never heard of Ying Tripod previously so I was a little hesitant on purchasing, however I decided to take a chance and I'm glad I did.The Ying Tripod Standing Laptop Desk arrived pretty much ready to use. The only thing that had to be "assembled" was sliding on the two plastic laptop stays on the bottom of the laptop platform.The laptop desk has a quality look and feel to it. And even though the frame and legs are made from aluminum it is surprisingly light, weighing in at just a little under 5 pounds.I didn't read any instructions so it took a few seconds to figure how to adjust the height and angle of the laptop desk. Basically there are just two release levers that are used to adjust the height and angle. (see pic) The lower locking lever is used to unlock the two vertical supports, allowing for height adjustments. The upper locking lever is used for controlling the angle of the laptop platform.The two gas shocks provide support and assist with both the height adjustment as well as the laptop platform adjustment. The two gas shocks not only make the adjustments easier but also help prevent the laptop stand from collapsing rapidly when releasing the locking levers and making adjustments.Ying Tripod Standing Laptop Desk also has four rubber feet on the bottom to help prevent movement and marring of furniture.I have used the laptop desk so far with laptops ranging from 14" to my clunky old 17" HP and it accommodated both well. (see pics) I like the easy of both the height and angle adjustments, while knowing that the two plastic laptop stays are keeping my laptop firmly in place.I'm happy with this purchase and don't foresee that changing. However, if I encounter any issues I will update this review.

Good value and it works!
I like my adjustable height desk. It helps when I need to stand due to a back injury it's difficult to sit all day. Being that my desk is small, I have to maximize the space around this unit. I would have rated it 5 stars if the lifting mechanisms were easier to adjust. While they are simple, adjusting the unit while the laptop is on the stand is nearly impossible. I also wished that there was an area where my cords could sit along the top back portion of the stand because if you are not paying attention the unit will pinch the cords depending upon where they are placed. All-in-all, I really like using this unit, it is durable and quality made. Saves me from having excruciating neck and back pain...because, well no matter how I feel, I have to work, at least I do right now. :-)

easy to use, perfect height adjustment
The package was arrived with very well bubble wrap around the desk, and include 4 strews, also a little screwdriver for the keyboard support assembly. The whole desk feels strong and solid, the base is made by aluminum with hard plastic feet, 2 layers are made with bamboo board and hard plastic and keyboard support is a whole bamboo board. It’s also a bit heavy if you consider moving it around. Each layer can be adjusted individually, the keyboard support moves with the bottom layer. There is a slot on the top layer to place your iPad/phone and a hole to route your power cable, although the cable hole is all the way to the right, so you can’t charge your phone while you use in portrait mode.I’d say it does job very well, easy to use, perfect height adjustment. The unit is a bit bigger than I expect, but the bigger size also helps to stabilize everything you put on, especially the monitor on the very top. I would wish to have built-in cable management so the cable could be hidden more elegantly, and also the top layer could be a bit offset to the back so I could put arm mount to secure the monitor better.Update on Jan 29: pictures for 2 layers setup

Broken before first use
Took it out of the box pulled the release levels on the sides to the angle I wanted, locked the levers back in place tested with a little push and the table collapsed. The lever is plastic so I see no way to adjust the locking part. Looks good but not worth the price for something that has a flimsy locking mechanisms. Not putting my 3000 gaming laptop on it. Returning to Amazon.

the greatest ever standing desk. but only problem is height of the keyboard stand is not going up ! we need to maintain L shape hand while typing which is not achievable !

Works as described (missing piece though)...
Unit was delivered in a huge box, overall it's ok, but there's a piece missing - see image attached. If seller could provide the missing part - I'd change it to a better rating.

How can a company who takes pride in their work be so careless??
I gave this 4 stars as it is indeed excellent quality . However I am very upset as the screw holes for placement are completely in wrong place. Its impossible to screw in the screws as the holes are completely off center. The unit is beautiful but its very irritating and completely disappointing for a company to put so much pride in their craftsmanship yet fail to align the holes for the four screws required to use the stand as made. Its very disheartening as I either have to repackage it, (by the way the packaging was excellent) and send it back or find someone with a drill to drill 4 new holes and make sure its correct so we don't drill unnecessary holes. The wood is beautiful and the frame is very strong and sturdy. Its a beautiful piece. I do meditations and chants/mantras and am creating a "prayer space" in my room for meditations etc and I wanted a stand I could use for my computer as I sit on the floor and utilize my computer many times for guided meditations etc..I was very hesitant to spend 200.00 for the stand but the one I have now is pretty cheesy and slips cockeyed and not durable so I decided to go with this one after much shopping around . Its a beautiful piece that I would love to have but I am irritated with the carelessness of the complete unit. Its useless to me until I can correct the problem and after spending 200.00 and seeing the beauty of the piece I can't help but to be bummed of the failed detailed of the unit as a whole.
