Great album

Such an awesome band! Saw them in concerts in the late 2016 this is what modern music should sound like.

An indie pop girl band out of Seattle, Tacocat's palindromic name indicates they are out to have fun. If the name and album art didn't give it away, "Bridge to Hawaii", the album's second song, leaves no doubt. The catchy, swirling lyrics capture the band's surfy leanings and upbeat attitude. Another standout, "Psychedelic Quinceanera", carries on this theme, with a bit of a twangy guitar background fill here and there. "Hey Girl" is another fun track that showcases the band's rowdier side. Ultimately, the individual songs on the album are never drawn out or overstay their welcome. It's not an album to sit and contemplate with repeated listens, but it is a good addition to your shelf to pull out alongside the croquet set for that summer backyard bbq or crank it up for a blizzard rockout to fight the winter blues. Fans of Best Coast and Ty Segall will find something to enjoy here.
