I had low expectations, I'm happy to say I was proven wrong. Great show.
Very good start, it had a solid pilot which didn't bore the hell out of me with backstory yet built it in well. I enjoy this and the acting is great, no annoying, cliché or over the top characters so it's got my attention. I'll continue with this show and hope it carries on as strong as it has.I also like that whilst there are as with all shows "unrealistic" things that happen, there are also a good number of realistic parts too where he messes up with the guy in the helmet (vague so I don't spoil) and the girl etc...it makes the character seem more like a human and not a god. I also like the lack of "sop story" nonsense that seems to pull ratings but grinds at me, it's not some overly boisterous playing the old "yeh I'm cool, see how cool I am, look at me, I'm a tough guy" card but instead shows a decent bloke who's got some skills from his background who gets dragged into a new career after a tragedy...he's got emotions but he's not going to cry the audience to death about it either.

Not Quite Taken.
Forget the haters, forget that this is a prequel. The series is good enough to stand on its own without the film link. The acting and action are excellent, it's good to see Jennifer Beals doing something gritty, as well as Michael Irby from "The Unit". I do miss that series.Perhaps there are a few places where the plot is predictable, perhaps Brian Mills is less than professional, but he did see his sister killed in front of him, by a cartel scumbag, who is allowed to live. How would you feel? Grief can do peculiar things to people.I look forward to a second series.

Not bad actually
I was sceptical when I came across this but as I watched I actually got really invested in the plot. it's not over complicated and the ending was a good cliff hanger so I'm glad there's a season 2 being commissioned. The series really focuses on Mills early life starting off with how he became involved in the darker side of the government secret service and the plot is driven forward with Mill's own personal demon's he must face and over come. I don't really want to give anything away because it really would ruin the viewing. you can tell the budget isn't massive for this series but it does well with what it has. It's not going to stimulate your brain cell's any time soon but it's not boring either. It's a good show you can switch your brain off to.

Taken and Returned.
xx Contains spoiler xxI really wanted to like this but i found each episode increasingly hard to watch, typical stereotypes in play yet again and weak plot lines.Lead actor especially is so wooden.I feel i did give it a respectable amount of time for a review,i got to episode 5 and one scene in particular made me realise how absurd this really is when a certain female character returns home after being stalked and conveniently leaves her alarm system cabinet wide open and of course her front door ( so the baddie can casually walk in ) as she attends her new neighbour who just happened to cut herself as she arrives home. That was the final straw for me.

Taken by surprise ......
To be honest I thought ok yep....not as good as film and not as bad as Liam Neeson.....but the guy who plays the lead is Rollo from Vikings and plays a good part . This is great and if this is the start of a good series then I'm glued.....a modern day Equaliser....Its gripping , fast pace and you don't know who the bad guys are....plenty of action. I really enjoyed it and recommend you watch it too......only issue is I have to wait every Tuesday .......aaarrrgh for next episode

RUN-OF-THE-MILL ACTION FARE
Clive Standen stars as ultra-macho war veteran Bryan Mills, latest recruit to a CIA department rooting out America's enemies. Colleagues worry about him. His maverick activities could place them all in jeopardy, he unpredictable after the violent death of his sister. Will he learn to obey orders and work as one of a team, or hamper investigations because of recklessness?Close attention is required for the ten episodes abounding with moles, bugs, double agents, twists and turns not confined to car chases. Mexican cartel boss Mejia proves a worthy adversary - he the one who killed Bryan's sister and clearly overdue for come-uppance. Jennifer Beals impresses as Bryan's boss. The growing relationship between Bryan and the team comes over well, the final episodes quite exciting.Although watchable enough, there is little to make the show extra special. So much that occurs is seen so often elsewhere, including what has now become a cliche - major villains proving to be high members of the Establishment. No bonus features. An extended second season, it the last.

Worth the time spent watching this Action TV series.
Decent TV action series based on the original film. Each episode is separate, however there is a theme and story line that runs through the whole of series 1. Decent character development, decent action scenes and better than usual acting from a pretty decent cast, of whom you should recognize quite a few.Well worth watching, not sure of repeated viewing.Wouldn't mind a second series if they could keep the standard up.

Co-produced by ex-producer Homeland – epic glory awaits.
I think I may be the only one who reads the credits. This is co-produced by the ex-producer of Homeland (multi Emmy and Glolden Globe winning show) – Kate/ Katie 'O' Hara and by default you can expect gut-wrenching turns in the development of the story, the edge of your seat cliff hangers and plenty of gun/car chasing action. If there's one thing I have learned from Katie's work is that the best thing to expect is the unexpected. You will fall in love and will fall in hate and the best part of it will be you won't realize when or why it happened. You'll find your alliances changing where you never thought they would. She'll have you rooting for the bad guy well before you realize it.The cast shows wonderful promise, screenplay is great as is the pace of the story.Of course, this is based on the movie and for all you movie fans out there, you're going to love this.Buckle up – it's going to be a bumpy ride!
