Solid and well built device, the quality of the materials is top notch, it even has a good weighty feeling to it. The fact that this package comes with several attachments and cables, you can connect your ledger to USB-C, USB and Micro-USB ports with ease.Setting up the key for first time use takes some time, but if you’re storing large amounts of crypto currency it is well worth it. Make sure to test your recovery procedure out by setting it up and hitting down the recovery words, setting up the software, creating your wallet and transferring a small amount of BTC to it (say $5) and then erasing the ledger by failing the PIN code three times in a row. Once this is done, recover your wallet using the recovery words. This will give you full confidence in case of a device failure, or loss.Make sure to make multiple copies of your wallet recovery words, store them in a safe and make multiple copies to secure it.

Cold wallet storage made easy. This device is cheap and allows you to store cryptocurrencies (offline) safely at home, and not on exchanges which can get hacked. The USB device comes with simple instructions and cheat sheets, with lots of further video tutorials and write ups on the ledger wallet website. You can manage this cold wallet using Chrome as your browser with the add-on Ledger manager, as well as Meta-Mask to insure that you are doing everything possible to safeguard your investments.

Very bad experience with this product.I tried to update my Nano S with the new firmware version. Followed the instructions provided by Ledger, such as they were, and now my Nano seems to be bricked. It is stuck halfway through the Update process and will not move.The software that is used to access the wallet does not work properly, at least not according to the spec provided by the manufacturer. Support is pretty much non-existent; there is no phone number listed anywhere on the Ledger website, you can only write to them and hope that you get a response and that they can solve your problem. There is a lot of printed material you can search through, but the instructions they give you are very confusing and do not always correspond with the actual process that your device will follow, so you never really know if you are following the procedure properly. It looks like they simply don't update the material on the website in a timely manner.Fortunately, I was not storing a lot of coin in this wallet, maybe $100, but I would certainly hate to have this happen with $20K of Bitcoin in storage.The only secure form of offline storage is a paper wallet, do not trust this device with any significant amount of coin.

Is the real deal. All others are scams

Just buy the ledger without the “adapter cable”. The adapter cable doesn’t work on any computer I’ve tried, but the factory one in the box was fine.

The wires that came along with it did not connect.

I purchased a brand new one but when I installed it I found the version on this devise was outdated. It is a version 1.1.5. It does not work so after reading troubleshooting it said you have to update the device. I have now spent 2 days a total of 10 hours trying to get this device to communicate with the application to recognize it so that I can update the firmware to the current version. In the meantime I have sent coins to my wallet and it shows confirmation. However, It is not showing anywhere in the wallets. I have now lost coins due to this inoperable devise.
