IF YOU ARE DOING EMT NOW OR WILL IN THE FUTURE THIS IS A MANDATRORY BOOK!
So currently I am about to start my EMT program at Lonestar and originally we were told that we need to go to a book store and have them call the publisher of the books I would need. The price that was the "cheapest" was $974.72, basically almost $1000. I got them just incase if the books were to price to buy separately on amazon (which ladies and gentlemen, let be really amazon always comes in clutch!) I tried to see if instead I could get the book from the previous edition rather than the newer additions to save money as well, so I ended up getting the 7th edition that tells you it comes with volume one and two. I also got the 8th edition (this deal that you are currently looking at) and expected to get just volume one. I had already read many of the other customer review and majority seemed to receive one and two, I was also one of those fortunate people to get that as well. Now all I have to do is return the 7th edition and call it a day. IT DOES COME WITH THE ACCESS CODE, so don't stress about that portion ether! Hope you can get this a great price, like I did! Good luck :)

Digital Version
I love the digital version of the book. This is my second time going through Paramedic school. The first attempt ended with my being hospitalized for a few days and on bedrest for a few months, unfortunately. But before getting sick I had the 7th Edition of this book in physical form. I bought about 50 folders, ripped the hardcover off of the book and separated the chapters to fit each chapter into a thin folder. Worked like a charm as I didn't have to carry those heavy books anymore (along with other materials).Didn't want to go through all of that a second time, as it was way more work that I had initially thought it would be. Decided to go digital this time around instead, and I am glad I did. Going back and finding different areas of the book, referencing previous sections I had read, and creating notes on the fly is seamless to me, and thus far more efficient than a physical book. Plus, I can neither loose this book or loose a particular chapter, either (referencing my set-up for my 7th Edition book).I like my choice. And will be making it again in other subjects as often as I can.

A book that actually makes sense
This book is nothing short of astonishing. Having read the "Paramedic Practice Today Above And Beyond" book and using this for class the difference is truly scary. This book has tons of special surprises. There are labels that read "NR Skills", Medical terminology is labeled in catagories such as colors and extremities plus there is a chapter labeled "patient assessment" which you can see from the border of the book that's colored in a light purple for quick finding. The book also does a quick summary of basic EMT or A+P at the start of the chapter to reinforce certain aspects. This book has honestly opened up my eyes to how things are connected and I finally understand what those things mean now.Lots of other stuff is included in which my other book never even mentioned, like how to calculate the O2 cylinder duration of flow time. This is the book every paramedic student should have during their training, period.

Perfect & Great Condition
I received both volumes, as expected. It was shipped with great packaging and came in excellent, brand-new condition. Cannot wait to start my paramedic class.

Standard for any paramedic student
Goes in depth for all the skills and tools you'll need to master. Easier reading than the previous AAOS EMT books.

Much improved
This is a much improved entry into this legendary paramedic textbook line. While previous version were often disparaged for their "Sidney Sinus" explanations (a relic of Dr Caroline's original texts), these have been significantly downplayed in favour of a more academic explanation. There's overall more depth to everything this time around - making it a much more useful book.Compared with Dr Bledsoe's Paramedic Care books, I'd say this one remains more approachable and comes close to it in terms of depth of information. If you don't get a choice of textbook then you're stuck buying this, but if you do get to pick (or want something to round out your library) I think this is probably the best text for paramedic instruction right now.
