American version of "Caesarean Recovery"
This is the American version of "Caesarean Recovery" by Gallagher-Mundy all the text is the same as the English version just with some spelling changes. I would equally recommend either one, we accidentally purchased both thinking they were different books due to the cover art being different as well as the spelling of Caesarean / Cesarean.Bought this for my spouse when we found out she would be having a caesarean section. She really liked the information about mobility after the surgery and tips for proper breastfeeding after surgery. I would recommend for anyone who is looking for good information on what to expect in the days and weeks after a caesarean section.

Not the best organization
I bought this book before my second c-section and am glad I didn't have for my first one. I am old enough now to realize that what doctors and books tell you isn't law. There are things in this book, organized by distance from surgery date, that are totally off my healing timing. There are things at 12 weeks out that I could do within 2 weeks, and things at 4 weeks out that I couldn't do at 12 weeks. Do not give this book to someone who takes it as a doctrine (or someone young and ignorant). That said, I still found parts of it informative and helpful, not a complete waste of money, even though I will sell or give the book away.

Active Recovery Guide
The dated photos make for a good laugh but the content is so helpful. This book beats all the online forums I was reading! I had a c-section 2 months ago and was unsure if I was recovering well. There are many good tips and easy-does-it exercises to make me feel like I’m actively recovering instead of waiting around forever to heal.

Mostly useless; a video would be better
I learned most of this from being in the hospital or just casual internet research. I also found that the chapter on breastfeeding is inappropriate for a book on cesarian section. There are already books on breastfeeding, and as a woman who can't breastfeed it is annoying to find it covered here when it has nothing to do with a c section, as if I need another reminder. Also I don't need a fluffy section on "healthy eating" as this is also irrelevant to a c section and I know all that anyway. I also don't need to read fluffy pep talks on "taking it easy, be kind to yourself, blah." I got this hoping specifically for info on recovery exercises that I should do to get my stomach strength back safely but the pictures/descriptions are difficult to follow. A video would have been better. In fact, I found the core section of Lindsay Brin's postpartum exercise video to do the trick instead. Wish I could have saved the money and not bought this.

Great full-color guide
Great full-color guide. I really like how it's ALL about recovery, which is what I need a lot more than surgery prep. I wish they had a more updated edition--the photos are totally 90s!

Too General
It is a good resource but it is too general. I was looking for something a little more specific that I could use during recovery for more specific questions and with more concrete examples and detailed descriptions of what to expect.

Great Product!
It had good exercises to do safely after my c-section and gave me advice and tips to do following the birth of my son. I would recommend this book.

Excellent Book
This book should be handed out in hospitals for women who have had a c-section. For a woman with no knowledge on what to expect before, during, and after a c-section, this book contains all the information that I needed to know. The book is very easy to read, every page is in glossy color with many pictures on what to expect and how to do the recovery exercises. The section on breastfeeding is very helpful as well. The book is divided into sections for each part of recovery, from 1-3 days, 4-7, weeks 2-12, 12-24, etc. I started reading this from my library on week 11 and started from the beginning exercises (from day 1) and feel GREAT after doing them. I was unsure what exercises I could do besides keigals and walking, this answered everything for me.I highly recommend!

Not as good as the pregnancy recovery book.
More exercises required. If this book was more like the pregnancy recovery book with take out exercise sheets it would be more beneficial.
