Candle Making Secrets Exposed: Learn How To Make Professional Candles At Home For Fun And Profit

I haven't tried my hand at candle making for over 40 years. This book is very helpful for a beginner. It is helpful in learning about wicks, and wax, scents and temperatures. Surely it will make learning candle making more fun and enjoyable and less stressful. I will use this book as a reference for sometime to come. It not only instructs but it gives the "why" behind the "how" making the instructions much more clear. I am sure that you will find this book helpful if you have never read a book on candle making. I am very glad that I purchased it and recommend it to you.

Love making candles and this book is a great teacher. It is wonderful making candles during the Christmas holidays and friends asking you to just give them one of your delightful smelling candles for Christmas and nothing else. You know you are doing something right! Smile. I recommend this book, and I recommend the seller.

This book helped me a bit on my candle-making journey. I have made candles for years, the new thing I learned about was the different types of molds and techniques to use for decoration. It's an easy read. Very informational.

I haven't purchased it yet, however it looks to fun to do with family.

I expected there to be more... theres a few techniques.. but I really expected there to be more. it is fairly easy to understand.. but I didn't really use it to do my candles...

Great starter book

Not what I expected. Would love to have color photos, but there are some good ideas.May pass on to friends that have more experience.

Nice book.

Never judge a book by it's cover. I chose this book because I thought the candles on the cover would be included in it. Few of them are, and how to make the more tasteful of them, remains ...er... secret.It's written with American weights and measures which are not simple to convert it you're British or European. It lists very specific brands of materials which makes choosing from other country supplies difficult to know if you are choosing the right materials.Responsibly, there are safety instructions repeated often and fire extinguishers listed with materials, though no instructions on safely putting out a flaming pan of wax should you need the extinguisher, or what kind is suitable. Maybe I missed the point?There aren't many pictures and several are repeated in several sections. The author extols using your imagination but actually goes from two basic candles to one technique to make a lumpy looking one, and then how to make candles that aren't candles as I understood them, being electric. It was not clear from the sample book I checked out, that the 'secrets exposed' aren't particularly useful to help you make what's implied on the book cover. I certainly wouldn't have bought it if the actual candles instructed inside were shown on the cover. I'm sure the author is great at making candles, just not as good at writing books. I feel I wasted my cash on this book.I also found the copious spelling mistakes and poor grammar intensely irritating, possibly because I was unable to find any section comprehensively useful.

This is great little book from an independent author who deserves recognition. It covers everything to do with candle making from the ground up, from things like different types of waxes, melting temperatures and their suited purpose, the best moulds to use, wicks and of course different styles of candles. There are also recipes for specific candles that are easy to follow and instructional and the book is packed from page to page with clear illustrations, photographs and diagrams. If you are just starting out in candle making, this book is for you. If you are an expert candle maker and you forgot... THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU! This book is essentially well written and informative. I wish I had read all of the reviews before buying this book. It does have some good info in it but it is definitely geared to American people. The other disappointing part to the book is all of the pictures are in black and white and look like they have been photocopied quite a few times before putting in here too! Would I recommend it? so far I wouldn't!!
