The children enjoyed opening the doors. The books are a decent size (similar to Mr. Men books). Some books are stories and others are colouring books - I didn't realise this before but it is still a great idea. Bluey is so well liked amongst children of a young age, so they were all keen to read their book. It is a very sturdy calender, very big and very well made. I would definitely purchase this again. I'm so glad I found this advent calender - so much better than chocolate one as it gives them something to keep as well as encourage reading. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A nice change to chocolate! Our daughter looks forward to opening this one just as much as her chocolate Advent Calendar (and she LOVES chocolate!), and instead of tooth-rotting sweets, she gets good quality coloring or story books, which have just enough writing and pictures to keep them interested, for the length of the story - she actually wants to read them before going to school!While the stories are retreads of episodes of the cartoon series, it matters not a jot to our daughter. If anything, I feel it works better this way, as it helps her figure out the actual plot, so she can just concentrate on trying to read the words.
