This is one heavy-duty sandwich maker! It means business!The item came with the handles separate from the pan, but were easy to screw into place.The long handles mean one can safely stand back from an open fire to cook a sandwich, unlike some of the short-handled versions around.There is a clip to hold the metal handles together to keep the pan closed when in use, and the wooden handles will keep hands cool when the pan is over the fire.The pan itself is VERY heavy, and built to last. There is plenty of room for thick pockets with lots of fillings if you're extra hungry. I had thought that the size was small and that a slice of bread would be too big for the pan, but now that I think about it, once you have the fillings in your bread, the bread will mold around them and they should fit fine.This item only arrived yesterday, so I haven't had a proper chance to try it out yet, but it's already taking me back to the camping days of my childhood, and I look forward to bringing new memories to my own children with this over the summer. I'll report back if we have any issues.

Too big for toasties, too small for pies...There, that was easy...

Does what it says on the tin. Could also be used as a mini oven on a camping stove or open fire. Downside is the squares are 30% smaller than a standard piece of bread.
