At first all seemed well with these however they split where the sole meets the upper after 18 months.The original pair I had were the better-made ones with the yellow stitching to them (not 2216PW) - I think they were the 2215 or something else, and they lasted me for roughly 15 years so I do not recommend the 2216PW ones at all.The 2216PW's are garbage in comparison.

Strong well-made 'policeman' / uniform shoes. I am very heavy on sole wear and these shoes although considered to be a little old fashioned in design really do last and provide excellent grip in all conditions. The leather is good quality and easy to polish. The fit is comfortable 'once warn-in' I have probably had at least 5-7 pairs of these particular make of shoes in my lifetime at different times (age 14+) - now 43. I have never been let down. In general they last about 12 months. I tend to wear shoes as my main footwear 24/7.Lots of extra's in the latest release like;1. Cambrelle lining to keep your feet dryer? and let 'them breathe'2. Update : Aug 2016 - reduced to four stars as taking a while to 'wear-in' not sure if it is because of steel toe-cap this time.

Sole for all intents and purposes, came off. After about a month's wear. It turns outs that I can't get it glued back on because, according to my local Cobbler, Dr Marten's use a material for the sole which doesn't lend itself to adhesives. No doubt. The manufacturer can't get the sole to stay on, why would I expect a third party to succeed?Very expensive rubbish.

Don't get me wrong....I LOVE Doc Martens....and these are superbly crafted shoes also....BUT....and in my line of work, Nursing.....it's a BIG but....they weigh an absolute TON!!! No use at all for anyone on their feet constantly running around for 8hrs plus. The steel capsmade these shoes far too uncomfortable for regular use.

I've been wearing Dr. Martens Air Wair for 45 years and these Chinese made shoes have let the company down.Firstly, they are made one whole size too small so whatever your size is, get the next one up!The leather is hard and they need 'breaking in' which is unusual these days.After only a week, the left one developed an embarrassing creak. Three weeks later, the leather on the same shoe started cracking and splitting. Clearly the leather was of very poor quality.Amazon were very good and promptly sent me a replacement pair without any fuss.Let's hope the next pair are better.

These shoes split after 13 months, they feel inferior in quality and caused slight pain by big toe after several months of wearing, don’t know if these are fake or genuine but they certainly don’t stand up to the quality I’ve come to expect from Dr martins

Size 8 shoes are usually correct for me. I already have a pair of size 8 regular Dr Marten shoes which are about a half size too large for me. So when I read the other reviews which suggested buying a size bigger than normal, I decided to risk getting a size 8. I would say that these shoes are a half size smaller than my regular Dr Martens and they fit perfectly. Happy days.

I'm a lecture in an engineering college and needed a smart pair of shoes with steel toe caps to allow me to go into the workshop occasionally. I used to wear dress shoes for work and change when I went into the workshop. I used to have to have them re-heeled every 6 month! But these lasted 7years of daily use. Really hard wearing. And exceptionally comfortable. They are a bit on the heavy side but you soon get use to that. This is my second pair. Will definitely buy again.
