Wish the light was brighter

The motion detector only works if the room is completely dark. That would almost be OK if the light was actually bright enough to light up an entire room. It is not! I have it installed in my kitchen. I a kitchen when you are cooking you need light even in the day time. It also does not work if there is another light on in the room. It would have been nice if this limitation had been stated in the product description. If I set it on auto, the motion detector should work no matter if its daylight or if there is another light on in the room.

I purchased this light to use in a poorly lit corner of a warehouse where I have a utility sink. There is an overhang so the main warehouse lighting does not reach this area. I installed the light on a temporary mount to test it in this location. It did not work well here. It seems there was just enough light for the light sensor to turn off the light thinking it was daytime. It would sometimes turn on and then turn off a few seconds later. When I turned off more of the warehouse lights it worked fine. If you are trying to add light to a partially lit area like a closet or pantry it may not function properly under those conditions. There is no way to turn off the light sensor. I ended up using another light in this area that has an option to turn on with motion sense when there is existing light.As to the general functionality of the light I was a little disappointed at the brightness. I was expecting a little more light and it was actually not as bright as the other light I ended up using which was only rated at 280 lumen while this one is 300 lumen. At 6000K it is a little harsh and with a CRI of 80+ probably not the best choice for a closet where you are picking out colors. Lower K rating would have less of a blue tinge and a higher CRI would give more natural color. This is a good utility grade light for a dark hallway or stairway where you are unable to run electrical. It uses 6 AA batteries. If the light is going to be frequently used or in a difficult place to change the batteries you might want to look at a light based on C or D sized batteries for longer runtime.Recommended for areas that are dark (not partially lit), for moderate runtime, and where higher quality light, for matching colors for instance, is not required.

These 2-Pack Motion Sensor LED Ceiling Light Battery Operated, 7.2inch Flush Mount Light Fixtures battery operated were just what was needed to provide ample lighting in the areas leading from the inside of my home down to the basement level. These lights were easy to install and certainly brighten the areas needed when my mom goes to the basement to the laundry room forgetting sometimes to turn the light on leading down to the basement. It's provides a bright enough light considering it is battery operated. The auto mode go off pretty quickly so this way you're not using unnecessary battery life. These are more suited to me for areas that you're providing ample light to without needing to brighten up a whole room. they also prevent someone from just turnip on and leaving the light on which I previously had to yell at the grandchildren for doing when they go down from the upstairs part of the house to the laundry room. I recommend these 2-Pack Motion Sensor LED Ceiling Light Battery Operated, 7.2inch Flush Mount Light Fixture for the small space that you want to provide just the right amount of light.

Easy to install. Brighter than I thought they would be. Great to put in many places all the places that you would walk into at night when it is dark. Remote access makes it just as easy to get the lights on. Would recommend

I wanted to like these lights. They are bright, very nicely constructed. Each light takes 6 AA batteries (9V total) and has a tiny switch to select between 3 modes of operation: OFF, ON, AUTO. The first two modes are self explanatory. AUTO uses the built in PIR (Passive Infra Red) sensor to activate the light if it detects movement. The light turns off 30 seconds after movement stops.This sounded ideal for my unlit hall closet. Even in daytime or with my hall light on at night, the closet is too dark to differentiate coats or gloves. Sadly these lights are almost useless for my purpose. When the listing says motion activated they mean motion in a 100% dark environment. When I open the door to my closet the light from my hallway is enough to prevent the sensor from triggering. If I stand in total darkness and open the closet the light comes on. Not very useful. I see a number of similar products on Amazon with a similar switch but that replace OFF with G. Apparently G means AUTO but without the ambient light override. In other words no matter how bright it is, movement will trigger the light. I understand the ambient light control is designed to prevent accidental triggering during daytime which would waste battery but I think the G mode is a much better implementation. It’s a short-duration light, who needs an OFF mode?So, as I say this is nicely built, comes with mounting hardware, bright enough for most uses and if it works for you I recommend it. For me, pass.Packaging is eco-friendly cardboard with plastic bags on each light in the box.
