I bought these last month for my boys, and I tried every possible trick to keep their lunches warm, but unfortunately nothing worked. I am very disappointed as they're cheap and now they're in the back of my cupboard taking up space for nothing.

First time using my daughter said the food was not warm at all and she eats lunch around 10:50/11. I think it was because i did warm up a lot of food at one time in the microwave for both of my girls. The most recent time using it {9/29/20} I actually heated up water and put it in the box and covered it, let it sit while the food warmed up and then placed the food in. She said that it was warm this time around, so yes you need to to put HOT water in first like the thermo cups.Recent updateWe stopped using it, my daughter still said the food wasn't as warm as when it's put in. I know it's not going to be pipping hot but it should at least stay warm for them to eat.

I was really looking forward to this doing the job for my son's lunches in school. I cook hot meals to send to school and I have been searching for a very long time for something that would actually keep it warm/hot for a few hours. I would put boiling water in this to heat it up first to help maintain heat. His favorite meal in it is 2 baked chicken thighs, mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. It actually keeps that meal hot. Very impressed. He was very impressed. When I put two loaded enchiladas that filled its capacity it didnt keep those very hot. I was disappointed in that. So my 3 stars is that some foods it stays hot for a few hours others it does not unfortunately. I make it and pack around 7:30 he eats at noon. The chicken meal has stayed hot all those hours.After having it a fairly short time... few weeks, the lid now doesn't fit. Not sure why or what happened. I noticed that one of the end clasps wasn't shutting very well. Now it's about useless. Very disappointed.For that I would give 1 star.

Perfect size, keeps his lunch from being squished in backpack! It keeps his sandwich a bit warm until his early lunch period. Bonus is that the neutral color & smaller size has my teen okay with carrying a lunch box.

Don't waste your money on this product it is the absolute worst.... I should have listened to the reviews.. my daughter said when she ate her food it was ice cold... I tried it again the next day the same result... it holds food go and it a nice size but not good for what I got item for....
