LiTime 12V/24V 30A MPPT Solar Charge Controller Bluetooth, LCD Display

I upgraded the battery in my nearly 40-year-old solar battery system at my off-grid cabin from lead-acid to LiFePO4, having gotten tired of replacing the lead-acid batteries every three to four years. With the change in battery type I also had to change the charge controller. I'll spare the details of a few other controllers I tried and finally bought what I should have in the first place, this LiTime 30A MPPT charge controller. This controller was easy to install and configure. The Bluetooth interface, which other suppliers offer as an option and charge extra for, was included and that was an added bonus for collecting data on the use and performance of my system. The companion free app installed easily on my Android tablet and is intuitive to use, though there are a few humorous "Chinglish" messages that appear. e.g. "Disconnected successed" comes up when you close out of the interface for the controller. The attached photos are of the controller installed in the load center of my system and a screen shot from the Bluetooth app on my tablet at the end of the season just before I shut everything down to close up for the winter. The discharge amp hours are not entirely accurate because I do not run the entire load of my cabin through the controller, that comes directly off the battery. I have a composting toilet with electric fans which I operate through the controller when we are away so the controller will shut those down if there would be some failure in the solar array or a very extended stretch of bad weather that would prevent the battery from charging enough. This controller has made my system almost completely hands-off in terms of day-to-day operation. With lead-acid batteries, especially late in the season, I had to constantly monitor the battery voltage and charge state because the reduced full sun time on my array at that time of year. This controller and the LiFePO4 battery just worked.

Nice solar charger! The manuals need updated regarding the LTCP feature. The paper manual as well the online manual disagree with the Alexa instructions regarding the remote temp sensor. I wrote the company for official clarification: My e-mail to Li Time: LTCP instructions via paper manual p11 and online manual p20 say to use the remote temperature sensor for lipo4 batteries. Ask Alexa (Ai) says don't use remote sensor for lipo4. (?????) Li Time Reply: Hi Eric, Thank you for pointing this out, and I’m sorry for the confusion caused by the conflicting information. For LiFePO4 batteries, the remote temperature sensor is not required. The low-temperature charging protection is handled by the battery’s BMS, so you can leave the remote temperature sensor disconnected when using a LiFePO4 battery. We apologize for the incorrect information in the manual and for any confusion this may have caused. Best regards, Arwa I also noticed the on-line manual had information on APP operation and the function control switches that the paper manual lacked. I had a bit of trouble switching these switches on and off before I figured out the scroll position of the switch on my phone had to be in the right spot.

I purchased this to upgrade an old PWM controller for a portable solar panel. One factor was the Bluetooth app connectivity. I installed it and clicked the link to download and install the app on my Android phone, only to find that my version of the Android OS is too new, and the download was not available! I sent a request to LiTime for an updated version. No response! I found a way to download the old version but it drops the Bluetooth connection and requires reconnect every few minutes, and some functions don't work. I can access everything on the unit itself, but remote access was/is an important factor of my purchase decision. And that has failed!!

Purchased to help charge up my12volt LiFePo4 battery using my solar panels with my DIY Power Station. Charge Controller came packaged very well & was delivered on schedule. 'OPERATOR ERROR' (me) caused the Controller to be "undersized" and it will not accept over 450 watts of solar panels thus it will not charge my 314 Ah battery in one day's sun. However, I intend to keep this Controller for future projects & use. The cost is reasonable and controller is very easy to understand , connect to, and operate. I highly recommended it for connecting solar panels to battery bank, just make sure you perform your calculations correct for proper sizing to your system.

Excellent 30 amp solar charger controller does not generate RF interference on my Ham Radio Gear. My LiTime LIPoFe battery’s charge well with my 100 watt Solar Cell

Great product, Easy to install, solid build quality, and the display is very helpful.

Matched this MPPT up with my LiTime batteries and it works great. Overall construction seem good although the buttons feel a little cheap. App works fantastic for monitoring all the stats and allows me to turn on the load without diving into the cabinet where it is mounted. You do have to be fairly close to connect the bluetooth but hasn't been an issue for me. Was similar or cheaper than some other options and I had no worries about any compatibility as it is LiTime same as my batteries. Would definitely buy again or recommend.
