WD 1 TB Mobile Hard Drive - Black

Replaced the original 250GB drive in my MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2009) with this as I was running out of space. Works perfectly well; feels quicker (although I haven't collected any data to justify that feeling); four times the capacity; and I've experienced no problems so far. Minimal downtime in my experience - clone your current drive to the new one (I just used the built-in Apple 'Disk Utility' along with EkoBuy® USB 3.0 to 2.5 inch SATA III Hard Drive / SSD Adapter Cable Backward USB 2.0 Compatible to do this) and then once the new drive is installed, it should boot exactly how you left it, except with more available space! n.b. Some recommend that rather than cloning your old drive, you should instead migrate your files using the built-in Apple 'Migration Assistant' as if moving to a new Mac, but it seemed less hassle to me to clone.I upgraded the RAM with Crucial 8 GB (4 GB x 2) DDR3 1066 MT/s (PC3-8500) SODIMM 204-Pin Memory Kit while I was opening it up and I'd recommend doing so too if you're looking to extend the useful life of your machine.All in all, a painless experience; the two upgrades have given it a new lease of life and I'm considering whether it's worth replacing the battery now I see no reason to buy a new MacBook Pro, despite Apple having seen it fit to drop support for the Mid 2009 vintage in macOS Sierra. I'd consider that a saving of more than £2k!

Great drive worth getting I used this to replace my broken toshiba drive. This drive is clearly better than the toshiba drive it's more reliable has great read write speeds, it's a tiny bit larger than normal 2.5 drives. It's great price and money worthy

Fast drive, a little on the chubby side, may not fit. Had to remove some plastic from my laptop to make enough room for it.

Was a replacement for my corrupt hard drive, however, after a windows update corrupted this one, I’m back to square one

Got a "Condition: Used - Very Good - Small scratches on the back of the item (up to 1/2 in.). Item will come repackaged." one from Amazon Warehouse, the scratches are barely visible, the harddrive has no bad sector on it, made in July 2018 from Thailand, and actually does come with 5 years manufacturer warranty after registering online with WD.

Installed in Dell XPS laptop to replace failing Seagate hybrid drive. It's at least as fast as the drive it replaces and I'm sure will give a good service

Bought this for my gaming laptop as the secondary drive to put all my games on, fit perfectly in the hard drive bay and runs quickly. Not much more I could ask for!

Installed on an older MacBook from mid2009 and it works great.It also helped speed it up a bit.

Great HDD, but I wanted more capacity so I returned and purchased a 2 TB Seagate Firecuda, which is also very good so far. Both were measured with Benchmark program and were performing in the 98th percentile, way above average. On the return process...wow, Amazon is amazing, issued a refund as soon as the post office scanned the return label...didn't even wait for it to physically arrive at their facility. Hard to beat that! Money was back in my account withing 2 days.

Without doubt one of the best HDDs (no comparison with SSD though). Performance & trust factor is incomparable since I have been using WD HDDs for more than 9 years now without issues. For use as a secondary storage in laptop, also to maximize SSD life.

Ich habe mir diese WD Black und ein Gehäuse gekauft. So habe ich mir eine externe Festplatte selber zusammengestellt. Bei den meisten fertigen, externen Festplatten weiß man ja leider nie so genau was für ein Laufwerk da jetzt drin ist. Mit der WD Black habe ich eine qualitativ hochwertige Festplatte.Hier ein paar Dinge die mich überzeugt haben:+ schnelle Lieferung+ günstiger Preis+ große Kapazität+ sehr kompakt+ läuft sehr leise und einwandfrei..eigentlich liste ich noch negative Elemente auf, jedoch sind mir bisher keine aufgefallen.Absolute Kaufempfehlung!
