Probably the best tubescreamer clone that there is
Excellent pedals. This is a genuine tubescreamer almost exactly like an Ibanez TS9 or 808. The best tubescreamer clone that I have found. It does the job and does it well. Not to say that it is identical to a TS. The TS seems grittier and seems to have more pronounced low mids and is better made overall. A real tubescreamer is quite enigmatic and not easy to copy exactly you will notice a difference when you plug into the genuine article. On a real tubescreamer the bass really sizzles and cooks which doesn't seem to happen as much on this pedal. However despite it's shortcomings I would still highly recommended these as a cheaper substitute because it gets you in roughly the same ballpark. . The only other criticism I could offer is that it seems a bit more powerful than a TS808 or tubescreamer mini particularly in the bass frequencies which are markedly different to what you get in a real tubescreamer. Bass frequency seems less altered. This means less drive in the bass. To get it to work on par with the genuine article I would recommend either roll off on the guitar volume pot or dropping the level on the unit to about 3 o clock (3/4). I can make these comparisons with some authority because I also have the TS mini. You could even say that with its extra power and more powerful bass frequency available the Kokko is probably more versatile than the original tubescreamer that it emulates because when you need more of a pure and unaffected bass frequency and response they are available to you whereas in the tubescreamer they are not available (bass being more homogeneous to the overall sound). More of a pure bass is more typical of older styles of blues guitar and classic rock.

Best £20 I’ve spent in a long time.
Sometimes you pay for the name, sometimes you get what you pay for and sometimes you get something excellent for very little money. This is the latter of the three. Each of the three knobs is a usable tone at both extremes of the settings, I’ve been playing guitar for twenty years, to my ears this sounds just as good as an Ibanez tube screamer, it’s a clone and it’s been cloned perfectly, looks good, powered by a boss style 9v Adapter (not included), no battery compartment may be a downside for some. This cost me less than the last time I bought a takeaway curry, I sat and played it through my boss katana for two hours when it arrived, it does exactly what I wanted, allows me to add a lot of bass and mids to a hard rock/metal tone without getting fluffy and muddy which was something the Katana was doing IMO and it also gives my lead tone that extra Marshall type scream, can’t recommend it enough.

no battery but great sound
As long as you are going to power this pedal, it is great. I bought it as a gift but auditioned it first to make sure I wasn't giving something terrible, it has a similar character to my TS9 tubescreamer but not the same. It isn't a worse sound, just a slightly different tonality and was very pleasing - I was tempted to get one for myself. The recipient loved it even though his amp already has an overdrive built in.

Bargain mini-tubescreamer
It a green £20 tube-screamer mini-pedal.Very good value and sounds very close to the original for a quarter of the Ibanez mini's price. If you have room for a full size pedal then the Behringer clone is also £20 and may be even closer to the original, but this is very good too.Just about every pedal board needs a Tubescreamer and if you are buiilding a mini-board then this is the obvious one to get. Recommended.

Modern tech, modern prices over old dated tech
Got one for my older sibling who would still be using steam to power the car if he could, doesn't believe in modern being better and still harks back to valves and hernia's when it comes to guitar setups.. He is now very taken with these modern, can't complain about the difference to the good ol days models and is starting a collection.. Hello 21st century !

It’s ok, but it won’t make your Micro Dark chug
I originally bought this based on reviews saying it was similar to the ts9 tube screamer. It was ok but didn’t give me the chug/tone I was looking for. I got a ts9 and it is way better, does go to show you get what you pay forFor the price it’s not bad, just not quite good enough, hence I returned it.

Great value for money.
As a home hobby guitarist, this pedal sounds great! And listening to YouTube comparisons of its original branded tubescreamer ‘Green vintage overdrive’ this sounds the same to my ears. Feels well built, solid switch and pots, powered by 9v power lead (not included) . Recommend.

A lot of bang for your buck!
I've been playing guitar for over 30 years and wanted a new overdrive pedal. I wanted something similar to the famous tube screamer but without spending a fortune. This pedal is amazing! I have been playing all day as it is such a great sound! A total bargain, you can't go wrong. Highly recommended.
