The best thing about this blanket is the laughter I have had with my daughter about it. The fish scale pattern grey is not grey at all - it is blue and in some lights arguably a sage green tone. I hope I can add the photos of the response from the seller - who was obviously trying to be helpful - as I have found it all very amusing. It is good quality and I have no experience of mermaid blankets in general but having looked at the item it seems a bit ridiculous to me. The good thing about it is the closed tail design. I returned this item simply because of the colour but having seen it I can't imagine why one would want one. My daughter for whom I purchased it originally agrees and now does not want one at all. From a sizing point of view I'm sure it would stretch but my daughter is five foot nothing and very petite and it was snug on her with the back split ending at the top of her bottom but the front square panel reaching way over her head. She said she would have thought it would be longer up your back and so did I - perhaps wrongly thinking of it as more of a bag that could be tucked under your arms. Our mistake I guess - now although I returned it because it was not grey it is a nice colour if that's what you were expecting and the fish scale pattern is nice. The people try to be helpful but why when I ordered a grey item they thought a good replacement might be a child's Santa coloured red and green blanket I simply do not know. They were friendly and did reply promptly and offered discounts ( on items I did not want ) but I really think they should describe the item as blue or even blue/ grey and it would have saved me the trouble of returning it.I do not usually write reviews but if you are expecting a grey tail don't bother.

For reference, I bought the green version without the fish scale pattern. (Kinda wishing I'd bought it WITH the scale pattern, now, but oh well. Still a lovely blanket.)- Very cosy blanket, super soft.- Properly finished, no loose threads, solid stitching.- Colour is just as it looks in the photos.- Comes very well presented, wrapped in a ribbon and then slipped into a zip-seal plastic bag (which I intend to keep to store it in when I'm not using it).- It does come with the company brand name on a cream-coloured cloth label stitched near the top left corner, but you can easily remove this with some sharp sewing scissors if you wish to (just be careful not to nick the actual knit blanket!).- I'm 175cm tall and a size 16, and this fits me. Like other reviewers have stated, being a knit, it has some stretch to it.- That said, the closed part of the seam reaches to my knees. This works perfectly fine for me and I believe it's how this was intended to work, going by the product pictures. It means I don't resemble a sausage and can also sit comfortably in this.- It's definitely intended for an adult. A child would fit into it and end up with their entire leg covered by the seamed portion, but the tail end would be far too big and the open portion of the blanket far too long.- Yes, you can walk in this. Not very fast, because you're limited both by the narrowness of the tail around your ankles and by the fact that the tail portion is much bigger than your feet and you may end up stepping on one foot's half with the other, but you can walk. Enough to fetch yourself a cup of tea or go answer the door. If you want to move any faster... well, you can jump. :DAll in all, I am very happy with this and would definitely buy again (for a gift, or to get myself the scale pattern...).

I kind of just stumbled upon this blanket, I have seen them around but never felt inclined to purchase one, until now.The parcel arrived really quickly thanks to prime and the blanket comes in a nice zip up type carry bag, the blanket is really very nicely presented all folded up with a ribbon keeping it tied up and a santa's hat is also included.As soon as I took it out of the bag, I couldn't believe the quality! It is brilliant! It feels so soft and comfy, and there is not a single stitch out of place.It is a good thickness so that it keeps your legs warm but not too thick that you get hot in it.The quality of the fabric used is excellent and I am seriously impressed.As a fairly large guy it is a little tight for me, but this is a Xmas present for my better half anyway so the fit should be fine for her.This is going to be perfect for those lazy winter days/evenings sitting on the sofa watching TV/films. I'd happily recommend this blanket and it would make a great christmas gift!

i had been searching for months for a good mermaid tail blanket and the other day i saw this one on amazon and loved the look of it, i also was happy and impressed to see so many good reviews for this product so i didnt hesitate to purchase one! it arrived today thanks to amazon prime and its just what i have been after for a long time and i can see why it got a lot of good feedback, its so soft and really good quality material and also open up so you can just slide into it, can also put your feet into the fins, i absolutely love it and feel like a real mermaid, the closest ill get to being one! thankyou so much for this product im over the moon with it!

I'm sure this states one size fits all. Had bought as a gift for my mum whos a 16, she couldn't get both legs in! So I now have it. I am an 8 and I see what she means, it's a struggle for me to pull it past my butt! But it's warm and looks cool!

I'm a six foot male and find it usable but snug. Then I'm also a 28 inch waist and find it tight. What I'm saying is, not for big people! Great quality though and very comfortable!

The item was well made, nice colour and felt nice. However it was a present for my adult daughter, who is 5ft 7ins, a size 12-14, and was much too tight to be a snugly sofa blanket. Very disappointed, as past date to return as had bought much before her birthday. Such a shame, as apart from size it is a lovely item.
