Every so often, the sprain will flare up and I need to control the swelling. These finger braces work great for that. They are thick enough to slightly inhibit finger movement while providing constant compression to control and reduce the swelling. I will have to say, that I have slightly slender fingers (2.5" circumference") and these are perfect for me. If you have much thicker fingers, it might not be as comfortable. It's great to have several in the pack so that I can switch them out when they get dirty/smelly and hand wash them.
