Little Bee

My current most favourite person on the planet is my grandson Benjamin.Due to an inadvertent purchase by his grandfather (me) he is the proud owner of a pair of pyjamas with black and yellow stripes - so he has ever since been called "Mr. Bee" by the family...I couldn't resist this Bee book, which has some lovely illustrations and an amusing story.Mr. Bee loves this book (although he is only 5 months old), and loves to be read it.He also enjoys holding it himself, but (WARNING) whilst doing this he fell asleep and the book came down over his face... although he didn't seem to mind (however, he may take exception in later life to the fact that his mother photographed him in this state!)Reminds me a little of the quality of the old "Ant and Bee" books that I loved when I was little (in the middle of the last century)

The bee is NOT on every page, which was important for me, but regardless, it is one of my dd faves, she loves the bee (natch) but the other animals are also cute and the whole book is really well made.

The tactile cover of this book is a great first impression - children will enjoy tracing around the title. Each creature is fleeing because he is being chased by a bigger creature, until the hunter is asked at the end 'Big Hunter, Big Hunter, why do you flee?' 'Because'.... well, you will have to find out for yourself! A perfectly constructed story with few words and its very simplicity makes it very appealing. Simple yet bold illustrations echo the theme of the story perfectly and the expressions on the faces of the animals are just wonderful.

My daughter loves this book (almost as much as Little Acorn Grows Up) but I find it to be quite boring. In the middle of the story there is mention of a mongoose. What is a mongoose anyway? I bought this book because my daughter has an unreasonable fear of bees and other bugs. It seems to have fixed that because the bee is really cute in the illustrations, I just wish there was more of a story.

I first found this in my KG-G5 library as a children's librarian, and I'm SO excited to have my own copy, now. I love this story about how significant the little bee is, and how he's running from all these predators but in the end the biggest predator of all is running from him. It's a great message and when I read it to KG/G1 classes they always love it and also find it really funny. The book was high quality board book material and the cover had holographic bee wings which I loved too.

My daughter received this book as a gift and I enjoyed the simple story so much I ordered this book for another child. I'm giving it 4 stars because the book my daughter received included glitter fabric wings for the bee on the cover which added a little extra specialness to the book, but the book purchased on Amazon did not include this 3D detail which was a slight disappointment. Cute story!

This is a fun book that has repetitive phrases. My grand daughter is now saying the repetative words with me. It's almost always a choice book at story time. Often she asks to read it again and again. I agree it's a short story, but perfect for young toddlers. Colorful illustrations.

Absolutely adore this book! We call our kids little Bs so this book was a must for us. Our oldest little B (3 years old) loves it to and reads it for everyone!!

Read this book a lot at the daycare where I worked, so when I had my first grandchild, I got my own copy to read to him. A great simple story for ages 2-4, and more fun when you use a "Bee" hand puppet.

Wasn’t to happy with the condition of the book but the story is top notch.

I like how new the book is and it arrived on time and in excellent condition. My daughter liked it as well. It is good for naming a fee animals. Has a funny storyline. Nice pictures and the sentences are rythmic so it is easy and fun to read.

Ordered this for my youngest second bday. She's obsessed with bees and bugs so this was adorable. My almost 4yr old had it quickly memorized and was reading it to everyone. We love it!

Great moral to the story but my granddaughter was not the least bit interested who is only 3 however, even the older children seemed unmoved and uninterested in the story. Donate to my local library

Very simple "story" and not much text on each page. But enough to please my two year old. The story stuck with him.
