price to performance ratio is off the charts... and it is accurate, read on
This simulator allows you to practice, improve, and play in one very enjoyable package. I have improved my swing plane, contact accuracy, swing speed and distance. For those that worry about the accuracy of the data, here is my suggestion. Firstly, the device may not be accurate as compared to $20,000 machines, however it is consistent enough to be reliable. With this consistency, you can gauge and measure improvement. The projection on my 20 foot screen reveals the basic nature of the graphics. But there is a plus side to this, the delay between the swing and the ball projection is instantaneous and looks fantastic. in my case the large screen makes me feel like I am on the course despite the basic graphics due to the instant response. The quality of the graphics becomes a none issue real quick when you see the ball fly as soon as you hit it. . I am happy with the companies decision on the graphic intensity. As far as the swing speed and distance accuracy. I have improved from 80-85mph to 95-100mph and driver distance from 210 to 250 yards in a few weeks. similar improvement with all of my clubs. If this is not truly correct numbers, the "improvement" is surely true which is more important at the end of the day. If you draw you ball less over time, then you have improved, even if the data is not 100% accurate, again improvement is improvement. one downside - the system sometimes cannot tell if you top a shot, it will give a shorter distance but not short enough, BUT you know when it happens, and you can disregard that result. in fact, really bad contact is something YOU know when it happens, and it is up to you to ignore those results. This golf simulator is fantastic, durable (so far), and an extremely cost effective way to get real measurable practice at home. I "wished" I could practice 1-4 times a week instead of 5-10 times A YEAR... now I can, and I absolutely do see the positive results. Although these devices tend to be polarizing to golfers, hence, the complainers will call it garbage, others will love it...BUT for me,...The Optishot2 is rare Amazon 6 star product.NOTE ON INACCURACY:The system MUST assume a ball position.. this position is the hole for the tee.. when you consider the complexity of all possible swings, one must assume that the clubs movement thru the traps (2 sensor rows) is weighed against the position of your club when the back swing crosses the rear sensors. The optishot assumes you pulled back from the center face ball position... one example; if the ball is too far forward on the optishot, the club will have started on some swing arc by the time the club crosses the rear sensor. The optishot then assumes that you were center of face based on that club position as it crossed the sensors... BUT... this is based on optishots assuming they ball was properly placed on the turf... so you then hit the ball.. optishot assumes you made contact at the proper ball setup location, but your swing path continues to your actual forward ball placement... this creates two different results... and yes... very possibly inaccurate... you can come up with many such situations if you ponder that the optishot does not know where you placed the ball. Think about it, the club crosses the traps in a complex swing arc. In order to calculate the resultant shot, it has to assume a contact point between the traps (sensors). Proper setup has to be right to have a chance of accuracy....thus, I place the ball in the tee location with or without tee, and I get very good results verses my real swing..ALSO, it would seem the ball Setup position near and away from your body would not be as relevant as long as you place the club center face at the ball center at setup (but why not just place it at, or very very near the turf tee hole)... I feel it’s accurate when used correctly which is easy... just use tee hole ball placement and also, ball at center of club face during address and back swing

Great product for the price
This is a very unique golf simulator. This simulator does not track the ball but rather tracks the bottom of your club. When I first got it out of the box and hooked on my big screen, I hit a dozen balls and was immediately upset at the product. Everything I hit was sliced and short. I'm no scratch golfer, but can definitely strike a good, consistent ball that travels above average distance with a slight draw. This is almost the exact opposite of what I was seeing on the simulator. Thinking the machine might be calibrated a little funny, I turned it off and on and dimmed the room... Same results. I followed up with reading the directions with no adieu. Next I hopped online and finally found the answer.You have the options to calibrate basically everything with any club. So after hours of tinkering.(and it really did take hours) I got my yardage dialed in, my flight pattern corrected, and my slight draw in there.After doing all the work at the driving range, it was an absolute blast playing a round of golf. Great for the price
I am a 55 yr old with a 22 yr old son, and we are ~15 handicaps. Wanted to work on our game through the winter in the northeast but didn't want to spend thousands of $. Given that, this is a great product. Be advised, this measures club head coming through the strike zone only, not the ball at all. That's why it's cheaper. So it doesnt read if you top the ball for example. But if you get contact, I think it does a very accurate job. The drive takes some set up. Put matt black Pro Gaffers tape on the bottom, then a ~1" strip of white PG AC20 DUCTape on the bottom along the front edge and re-calibrate and you will be fine. If it still doesnt read the driver right restart the software, and it should work fine.You will need a base to hit from as the hitting pad is ~1" off the ground so if you dont eleveate your stance you will chunk the ball or have to choke up on the club. I glued and screwed 3/4 plywood to another 1/4" plywood and put theOrlimar Golf Mat for Optishot Simulator (4' x 5') on top and it works great.I also got the Rukket 10x7ft Haack Golf Net which works fine.I am all in @~$500 with a very solid golf simulator that we can use for practice and play games. It's great fun if you are a golfer.Now I need to spend a few $1,000 to heat the garage, oh well!
